Open Captivate 4 Here are the steps and I will take you through
a practical application Be patient, it takes a couple of minutes Create Blank Project Full Screen – 1024 x 768 Record; next slide Have your application open Hit Red Record Button Screen share to demonstrate this
Record your slides Every click of the mouse A simple procedure of selecting a
printer made 43 slides. Review the slide to see what you do
not need. There are many surplus slides in this
process I reduced the final outcome to 9
slides.
Record Audio Write a script Click on Audio icon You will run a sound check first Then record each slide individually. Good idea to turn off phones Be in a quiet area if possible Remember, this does not have to be perfect
Preview Preview the Project This takes a couple of minutes
to generate the various options.
The presentation will go through in real time
You will often find that the narration is longer than the slide and you can end up with a blank screen.
You have to ensure all the timeline options are the same length.
Save If you are creating a project and are not ready
to Publish, you save it in the normal manner. Then it is easy to come back and edit later.
Publish Project Title Choose the path – it will try to default to My
Docs Publish The folder will be created for you View Output You will see your Project in real time.
Files for Wikis or TALS You will have a number of files in your folder. You will upload the *.swf file – see below When you upload it to the wiki, do not embed
the file, just link to it. This will prevent Captivate starting as soon as you open the wiki page.
