Evidence Base Study for Core Strategy (Woking Borough Council)

Regional Heat Mapping Study (Surrey County Council)

Unitary authority-wide energy study (Peterborough City Council)

Thameswey Sustainable Communities was commissioned by Woking Borough Council to carry out heat and power demand mapping of the borough as part of the council’s evidence base supporting its emerging core strategy policies. The mapping was used to identify locations for new energy stations and distribution networks.

We were commissioned by Surrey County Council to prepare a county-wide assessment of the main heat loads within the built environment as part of its strategic review of low carbon energy opportunities in Surrey. Our work for Surrey included detailed analysis of town centres and other major areas of settlement to assess their potential for development of community heat networks.

Neighbourhood-scale energy study and heat mapping (Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council)We completed an energy masterplan and scoping study for the regeneration of the central business district within Basingstoke comprising a major regional business park and mixed use development of over 1.5 million square feet.

Opportunity Peterborough, who are Peterborough City Council’s regeneration company, wanted a comprehensive energy study of Peterborough Unitary Authority Area and an implementation plan for meeting future energy requirements in these planned growth areas. Our study also identified a number of low carbon energy opportunity areas.
