Bjånes Passage

nautical mile on dry land

Don´t be afraid of these waves, they won´t make you wet. There is salt only in the wind when it blows from the sea. This ship is always in the water, though the onward course is merely some centimeters per year, depending from the pace of the tectonic plates. It´s too heavy for the wind and the waves to be lifted or pushed forward. But onboard one can sense the heave of the sea. The ship is tall: the route from the stern to the bows is one nautical mile (1852m), when followed the route. Its area covers the whole northern peak of Bjånes. Verticality can´t be avoided, you have to look up, rise up, climb up. And then down, following the figure of a wave. The ship is in pieces, so if you want to bottle it, you have a puzzle to solve. Start from the stern, meet the hull, saloon and cabins. Continue to the side, have a look at the fjord you´re cruising from the look-out tower. A suspension bridge leads you over the hills to the leeward side, the calm foredeck. You are under the foresails, which are attached to the forepeak. It´s pointing towards the North, splitting the wind.MARITIME ATMOSPHERE ROUTE THROUGH
