General Slide Show Rules

Use outlines, not sentences & paragraphs

Use bullets, not numbers 6x6 rule

6 lines of text 6 words per line

Make font big enough to read

Printing

NEVER just click on print button on toolbar

Slides – full page slides Handouts – 2, 3, 4, 6, or 9 slides per page Notes Pages – half slide, half notes Outline View – just text, no slides Notice there is no PRINT PREVIEW

Working with the Text Box

Click on edge to select Text Box.

Appearance of edge will change when selected.

When selected, Text Box can be moved with arrow keys.

When selected, Text Box can be deleted with the Delete key.

Use the Resize Handles to change the size of the Text Box.

How do I insert another Text Box?

Click Insert on Menu Bar.

Click Text Box. Then Click

anywhere or draw a box the size you want it.

Changing Text – Formatting Toolbar

You MUST SELECT for it to TAKE EFFECT!

Font, Font Size Bold, Italic, Underline, Text Shadow Align Left, Center, Align Right Numbering, Bullets Increase Font Size, Decrease Font Size

But, how do I change the color?

Click Format on Menu Bar, then click Font Color option appears on middle right of dialog box. Be careful – use light text on dark background or the

opposite. This is called CONTRAST.

Changing Background Color

Click Format on Menu Bar.

Click on Background.

Can be applied to all slides or just one.

Again, be careful about CONTRAST.
