Ashley Prosenak
Eastern Connecticut Sophmore 19 years old
Born in Bridgeport Hospital lived in Stratford, CT my entire life.
I lived with my mom Cindy and dad Andrew in the same house for 19
years, my mom passed away last year so now it is just me and my dad.
I am half Slovenian from my dads side, and am a mutt of Swedish,
Polish, English from my moms side
Family is an important part of my life, I treat my friends as though they are
family as well. I try to be involved and stay in touch with my family as much as I can. I would do anything for those who
are like family to me.
I wish that I could learn German. Slovenian is a dying language, so it’d be nice to learn German and be able
to talk to family over in Europe.
I enjoy baking and want to learn how to cook more, this summer my
grandparents on my dads side taught me how to make some
Slovenian dishes.
I used to do Indian Princesses with my dad, because of that me and my dad
have always had a very close relationship, I absolutely love camping
and love seeing new sights out in nature, especially the stars.
I love dogs, and have had one from when I was born up to this summer.
Winter is my favorite season. I love snow, snowboarding and Christmas.
My favorite color is blue, I especially love wearing it because
it brings out my eyes.
Music is a huge part of my life. Whether it was listening to music with my dad, in choir, in musicals
or just on my own.
I love anything Disney, my dream is to work one summer in Disney
World as a Disney Princess.
I love going on long car rides, airplane rides and traveling.
The only place I have been outside of the country was Bermuda, on a cruise. Although I didn’t see a lot I did learn quickly how different the island life was from mine here in
the U.S
I have played soccer since kindergarten, being a starter all four years on my Stratford high school team. I now play co-ed
intermural soccer here at Eastern.
I am a Patriots fan
Ever since I was little I have wanted to be a teacher and that is exactly
what I am going to do. I am a Psychology and Early Childhood
Education Major here at Eastern.
I am in the education club here at Eastern and I am determined to get involved and volunteer this year at
local schools or daycares. I volunteered in a summer daycare in my local town at an elementry school. I worked with
kids with disabilities and made progress with a little boy who was a
selective mute. I love helping children, it makes me happy.
I can’t wait to go to Jamaica!
