At the age of 15 years old, he joined CSKA, where his trainer was Victor Talynova. In the USSR national team trained under the leadership of Leonid Tyagachev.

Repeated champion of the USSR, the winner of the 4th stage of the world Cup. He specialized in the slalom and the giant slalom

Ingemar Stenmark:Zhirov was a great skier. Probably he was a genius.

He died in 1983

I admire him because he is a great sportsman. He is my father’s friend.
