AkzoNobel expanding Middle Eastoperations

AkzoNobel and Yusuf Bin AhmedKanoo group of companies haveexpanded their jv agreement,which previously only covered thesupply of AkzoNobel’sInternational Paint brand, alongwith coil and packaging coatings.The expanded deal allowsAkzoNobel to offer products fromits Performance Coatingsportfolio, including marine, yacht,fire protection, protective, powdercoatings, professional woodcareand automotive refinish.AkzoNobel plans to expand itstwo primary facilities in theMiddle East to supplement theexpanded business portfolio.These facilities have a combinedworkforce of over 200.

Troy announces major expansionfor Southeast Asia market

Troy Corp has disclosed theexpansion of its facilities to caterto the coatings industry in theAsia Pacific. The company, whichrecently unveiled a 1500 sq mlogistics centre that will servecustomers in Asia, has alsoincreased two-fold the size of itsproduction site in Thailand. Troyis set to inaugurate in 2013 anew Technical Service and R&DCenter near the BangkokInternational Airport. Thecompany offers its Polyphase dry-film fungicides and ‘green’wet-state preservatives andperformance additives for theregion.

PPG Industrial Coatings integratesSpraylat’s conductive inks andcoatings

PPG Industries’ industrialcoatings business announced thatit has created a dedicatedelectronic materials group tointegrate products andtechnologies acquired fromSpraylat Corp, Mt Vernon, NY,USA in Dec 2012. PPG isoffering a full line of electricallyconductive, resistive and dielectricinks and conductive coatings forradio-frequency interference/electromagnetic interference(RFI/EMI) suppression. Theseinks and coatings are used indiverse applications such as:touch-control panels forsmartphones, tablets and otherconsumer devices; interactive andelectro-chromic displays;biomedical sensors; printedkeypads and other industrialmembrane switch controls; radio-frequency identification (RFID)tags; and other products thatrequire printed circuitry.

Cytec announces price increaseson its Powder Coating Resinsproduct range in the Americas

Cytec Industries Inc (Cytec) andits affiliated companies,announced to its customers aprice increase for its entire rangeof Powder Coating Resins sold inthe Americas. The price of allproducts in the range will beincreased by $0.05/pound to$0.07/pound. The adjustment willbe effective for all shipments asof 1 Mar 2013, or as contractterms permit, and is in additionto any previously announcedprice adjustment. Cytec iscommitted to servicing anddelivering value to its customers.However a price increase isnecessary to compensate for theincrease in raw material costs.
