WHY COUNTY, ROUTE, SECTION and LOG MILE?

Think of it as the AHTD’s Addressing System

7

Each event/structure has it’s own “address” or log mile on the Linear Referencing System

Cleburne County: Hwy. 25 Section 3

8

State Police and County/City law enforcement record the crash events in a standard crash report format.

AHTD Crash Locators get the electronic copy of the crash report andcheck/determine the crash location by county, route, section & log mileAnd send back any corrections needed.

Each crash event is entered into a database housed with the State Police.
