Augmented reality (AR) combines the physical world and an interactive, three-dimensional virtual world. By digitally processing live video footage with computer-generated graphics, augmented reality produces an interactive, three-dimensional hologram that enhances the Web video viewing experience.

AR is not just a tool, but a full-fledged language.

AR was introduced as the opposite of virtual reality; instead of creating of synthesized & purely information environment, the goal of 3 AR is to augment the real world with virtual information.

AR transforms the focus of interaction. It enhances what we see and experience.

Why is everyone making there own media players ?

Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) is an open software framework for building robust, feature-rich video players and applications based on the Adobe® Flash® Platform.

OSMF enables developers to easily assemble pluggable components to create high-quality, full-featured playback experiences. The open aspect of the framework enables collaborative development for web video monetization, with lower costs and faster turnaround.

OSMF reduces the complexity of player development, allowing the developer more time to focus on the overall user experience.

OSMF’s flexible architecture allows the developer to easily customize their player for the browser or the desktop, incorporating plugins for advertising, reporting, and content delivery along with standard player features such as playback controls, video navigation, buffering, and Dynamic Streaming.

The OSMF can be integrated into your own custom applications using the simple API, or you can deploy the ready-to-run dynamic SWF player without compiling or writing custom scripts.

The media framework is designed to reduce costs associated with developing players in-house. With a best-in-class code base built on open standards and supported development best practices by leading players, OSMF can help accelerate player time to market.
