As in prior years, FlushingHouse has scheduled three “ElderLaw Seminars” for Spring 2016.These seminars will focus on howchanges brought about by theAffordable Care Act (ACA) andMedicaid Re-Design/Expansionin New York State are impactinghealth care and home care servic-es for seniors. Medicare changesarising from the ACA will also beexplored, as well as asset protec-tion trusts and estate planning.

Ann-Margaret Carrozza, Esq.,the noted elder law attorney, willgive the first seminar on Saturday,June 4. Carrozza will discuss pro-tecting one’s home against long-term care claims while retainingcontrol over it, as well as how touse a trust to protect assets andqualify for Medicaid home careone month later. In addition, shewill discuss the role of SpousalRefusal to protect a family’sassets.

Ronald Fatoullah, Esq., thenoted elder law attorney, will givethe second seminar on Saturday,June 11. Fatoullah will speakabout the five essential docu-ments every senior should have.
