FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
Welcome to all who are here
today to remember our fellow
parishioners who have died.
During our Masses, Memorial Cards are
removed from the Ambry and placed on the
altar, as the names are read. Some families
are also lighting candles. We were able to
obtain the candles with the help of our
friends at Saint Stanislaus Church.
Like all parishes, we have a weekly
Mass for Living & Deceased. In November,
as leaves on the trees fall to the ground,
the Church turns our attention especially to
our departed loved ones. You may write the
names of your loved ones in the book at the
back of the church.
Thanks to 21 families who had funerals
in our church in the past year and who put
Holy Cross Parish in their obituaries as a
suggested Memorial Donation. These funds
help us to do building and property repairs.
Knights of Columbus will meet on the Third
Tuesday Nov. 19 7PM in the Parish Center.
Our new K of C Council has a name which is
Blessed Grimwald Santamaria
Council #17364
Our Charter for the Council will take some
time to prepare at the Supreme Council in
New Haven, CT. Meanwhile, we will have
two months to add names to the Charter.
We invite men of the parish to be part of
this new endeavor of service to the Gospel
of Jesus Christ and His Church.
Annual Mass honoring Blessed Grimwald
will be at Noon on Sunday November 17
with a luncheon following.
After the 10 AM Mass on November 10, a
new flag will be raised to honor a deceased
Veteran, Pvt. 1st Class Joseph Bertman.
See the next column for further information.
We thank Algird and Sarah Bertman who
gave this flag in memory of their father and
fatherinlaw who served in WWI. Algird
and Sarah celebrated 65 years of marriage
on October 9th.
Missalettes are used at weekday Masses.
We have Mass 7 days a week. Please do not
take them home. 22 were taken away
last month! Sincerely, Father Gagnier
