2. Particle Beam Therapy (PBT)
What is PBT system
Particle Beam Therapy (PBT) is an emerging form of radiation therapy that can
maximize radiation doses to the target tumor, while sparing adjacent healthy tissues.
Hitachi’s Market Share & winning orders around the world
A device that accelerates the protons to speeds
required to reach the tumor target inside a
patient’s body. Hitachi’s original accelerator
technology realized high positional accuracy and
stable beam supply required for clinical
application.
The accelerated protons can be delivered to a
patient’s tumor from any angle through the nozzle
mounted on the 360 degree full rotating gantry. It
minimizes the patient repositioning.
