PART-A
Our college has gone continuous assessment process through the NAAC. NAAC peer
team visited on dated the 1st feb.2010 and assessed the quality of education. Among that team
Dr.Bhagirath Prasad the chairman of the NACC team (The former vice chancellor, Devi
Ahilyabai vishwavidyalya indoor). Dr. P.A Bhat the memberof the committee (The former ,

Principal Dr. A.V. Baliga college,Kumta) and another member Dr. Jayprakash mukundal Trivedi
( Professor, Dept of sociology, sardar patel university, vallabh vidyangar.) has Disused with
Governing council member, principal, IQAC, Alumni, Teachers, parents and people of the
Guhagar about the progress & planning of the institution. College Re-accredited with “B” grade
(with CGP.2.42). The committee also suggests the recommendation for the improvement of
academic performance of the college.
Today is the world of Globalization, Liberalization & Privatization. We are the part of
rapid development and advanced Technology. Present higher education has to keep the
quality of institution with internationalizations. Our student is the base of present emerging
new globalize world. To literate the stake holder for the use of modern technology to impart
global competences it can play an important role with a modern approach & techequniqe in the
higher education. We predominated following plans seek to implement programmes to
imparting for over all development of student.
What is the plan of action chalked out by the IQAC beginning of the year towards quality
enhancement and what is the outcome by the end of the year?

I) Our student is are rank holder at T.Y.B.A. examination held march2010 conducted by
university of Mumbai
II) We have received 82, 55,000 RS grand from UGC. On various head of 11th plan.
III) We conducted remedial coaching for sc, st, obc student
IV) We provide the travelling allowance to needy, rural, backward area student under
the UGC student. We utilized the 80,000 Rs. Grand on student to carry & support for
education
V) Our teachers completed refresher course in their respective subject
VI) Teachers participated & presented their research paper in workshops seminars,
conferences organized at university state, national, International level in their
respective subject.
VII) Principal & teachers, non teaching staff, students always used of internet for the
collection of data and information for project, daily teaching, research, assignments,
presentation, classroom discussions etc.
VIII) Student actively participated in intercollegiate competition (held at state, district,
zonal level etc.) got respective prices.
IX) The college has given good outdone result in the final exam of B.A & B.com
comparatively to university of Mumbai.
X) Youth festival, Annual sport competition has motive source for student the
achievement in intercollegiate competitions.
XI) College introduced new degree course. (B. Sc regular & B.Sc IT)
XII) Secret of success programme conducted for 5 day for stake holder.
XIII) Placement cell conducted meetings, organized programme on online placement
service, HCL Company campus interview etc. for strengthning the job opportunities
for student
XIV) “User awareness program” organized by the library dept. of college & introduced
various e-resources’ 50,000 e-books, 2100 e-journals subscribed under UGC
inflibnet n-list programme. All the teachers participated in orientation programme.
XV) The students has successfully completed self-help group coursed affricated to
Yashwantrao Chavan open university, Nasik.

XVI) Khare-Dhere college computer center working strongly (MKCL) for conducting
Wave courses. Student take benefit of it and completed MS-CIT, Tally, DTP courses
etc.
XVII) Communication skill in English 1 month’s course completed by student, teachers &
non-teaching staff of the college.
XVIII) The college conducted following workshop, seminar, and conference at
intercollegiate, collegiate level at society level.
1) IT dept. organized workshop on placement services & information
technology at society level.
2) Women development cell organized one day workshop on entrepreneurship
development for women of self help Group of Guhagar region.
3) Career guidance cell conducted one day workshop on UPSC, MPSC &
competitive examinations for intercollegiate student
4) Legal literacy committee organized legal guidance with help of session court
judge & other advocate of Guhagar.
5) Cultural Dept & Health care center conducted various competitions for the
awareness of AIDS. Seth Hirachand Walchand elocution competition held &
student got prices.
XIX) Staff academy conducted NACC orientation and guest lecture programmes on
financial investment.
5. Administrative Level
I) Our teaching & non- teaching staff participated in various training program.
II) The Management conducted campus development programme. We
spent Rs. 2 lacks on Road construction for new building for science faculty.
III) The institution flash 14 solar energy light in the comps worth Rs. 2 Lacs.
IV) Enhancement of Infrastructure has completed as per the academic
planning.
V) The management allocated funds for the college development. They raise
fund from the society.
VI) Guhagar Education society honor eminent personality by arranging special
programme
6. Departmental Level
All the departments of Arts, Commerce & Science faculty conducted their
activities as per the plan prepared at the beginning of the academic year.

Q. 01 Activities reflecting the goals & objectives of the institution
The primary goal of the college is to prorogate, enervate higher education among the
downtrodden people of Guhagar taluka and tries to make at least one degree holder in each of
family.
i) We plan to admit 125 numbers of students for current year at F.Y. level to reach the benefit
of degree level higher education to at least 125 more families residing in rural area of Guhagar
taluka, total 308 students admitted in last year in Arts & Commerce faculty. New 67 students
took admission for Science faculty. Current year 121 students total admitted in F.Y.B.A & B.Com
class.

ii) College is affiliated with university of Mumbai and initiated four degree course of B.A.
B.com, B.sc regular& B. Sc. Information Technology are being successfully offered to the
Student and adjoining area of Guhagar & Chiplun of very cheap and subsidized fee rates for
Degree education.
iii) Scholarship grants from social welfare Dept of the govt. of Maharashtra for notified
Backward class students is made available for substantial concessions in payment of Fees.
iv) Special programs conducted for creating and inculcating interest in importance of higher
Education.
v) Continuous support and encouragement is provided for the over all development of
Students motivating to the participation in co-curricular and extra curricular activities at
college and intercollegiate levels.
vi) Short term certificate courses are beneficial for professional skill development of students
in the Khare- Dhere college computer center.
vii) The college has been awarded “The James Taylor” Prize for the year 2010 for passes in
the first class & securing the highest number of marks amongst the successful candidates who
offered economics (Three papers) & History (Three papers) combined subject at the T.Y.B.A
examination held in March 2010.
viii) We conducted upliftment programme under the scheme of UGC to stop drop out of the
college & to prepare overall personality development programme to face global challenges.
Tally ERP Courses, free accommodation, T.A allounce to the needy students. English Speaking
Course, Student Welfare fund adequately utilized in right direction to help students come in the
flow of education. The college increases its total student strength 375 for current academic
year.
Q. 2 new academic programmes initiated (UG & PG):
The certificate courses in self help group has been initiated by college current year
the course has successfully completed 23 women’s from the guhagar taluka it is a course
conducted for the objective of women’s empowerments, eradication of a poverty and
upliftment of economically backward people. This is a six months course having 50 intake
capacity course designs and developed by Y.C.M.O.U., Nashik and supported by common-
wealth council, the college continued successfully B.A. & B. com degree persons.

Q.3 Innovations in Curricular Design
All the curricular implemental in the college in various subject are as per the guidelines
issued by the university of Mumbai. Under the aegis of univ. grant commission a lot of
innovation takes place why handling the syllabus and teachers makes efforts at designing
creative teaching methodology for their respective subject. The member of the board of study
put his suggestions as per the requirement of current issues regarding to the syllabus. Some
staff members participated and presented their research paper in the workshop on revised
syllabus and gave valuable suggestions. Project work is a part of syllabi, teacher do use their
innovative techniques in guiding the student when they prepare for the projects.
Q.4 Inter disciplinary programmes started
A) The college runes B.A., B.Com, Bsc., Bsc.I.T. Courses following subjects are in the
inter disciplinary in nature.
i) Foundation courses first and second year B.A. / B.com/ B.sc. level.
ii) Environment studies at first year B.com
iii) Advertising at second year B.A. / B.Com level.
iv) Mathematical and statistical techniques at first year B.com, B.sc., B.sc. I.T. level
B) The planning forum of the college organized 44th walchand Hirachand Memorial
elocution competition on 25th Aug 2010. On the various inter disciplinary subject
suggested by the forum of free enterprise Mumbai who was the sponsor of the
competition for total price money of 6000 for the first three ranks.
C) Prominent guest lectures on the panel of various formal and informal subjects are
invited for delivering lectures on any interdisciplinary topics open to all

1) The college is affiliated with University of Mumbai several reforms have been
announced by the University of Mumbai in the academic year 2010-11 which have
been implemented by the college in the matter of minimum passing level of the
subjects, internal assessment scheme, question paper format & method of assessment.

Q. 21 Improvement in the library services:
i) In the beginning of the academic year, a Library orientation and Information literacy programme was conducted to make the newly admitted students aware of the services offered by the library and reading accessibility available there at.
ii) The library runs backward class Book Bank Scheme out of aid from University of Mumbai. Books on returnable term are given to the socially backward class students. 50 students in 2010‐11 took benefit of the facility.
iii) The library has also devised its general Book Bank scheme within its own framework 20% of the price of a book is taken from the students and they are allowed to use books for the whole year. 27 students in 2010‐11 took benefit of this scheme.
iv) Merit card: From the academic year 2008‐09 the college Library has started to distribute one additional Borrow card (which is titled as Merit card) to the meritorious students i.e. first three ranking students of each class were benefited by this scheme. No. of beneficiaries are 24 .The aim of this scheme is to motivate the advance learner to improve his reading habits and develop the personality.
v) Best Reader Award: From the academic year 2008-09 the Library committee has decided to give best reader award to one female and one male student of the college every year. During the year 2010-11 nominations were invited for the award and the Library committee took viva voce of each nominated student. Finally two students were selected and awarded as a best reader. A certificate and some inspirational books were given to the selected students. The aim of this scheme is to encourage the students to utilize the resources available in the library at optimum level and improve their learning ability.
vi) Maps, newspapers, clippings, audio, video CD’s and other educational aid material including old question paper sets etc. are made available for use to the students and teachers.
vii) In the academic year 2010-11 the institutional Library subscribed various E-resources i.e. 2154 E-Journals and 51,746 E-book under the UGC Inflibnet N-List programme. A user awareness programme on accessing the E-resources was organized by the library dept. for the teachers.
viii) On 9th august 2010 the institutional library celebrated birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, on this occasion a book exhibition was organized and a lecture on ‘Reading habits and personality development’ was organized by the Library dept. The backward class students from SC, ST, DT, NT, SBC & OBC categories get
100% aid- Scholarship from Social Welfare Dept. of the State Govt. for payment
of their full fees as prescribed by the university.
EBC/ PTC scholarship for reimbursement/ concession from tuition fees only is
also given to other category students i.e. economically backward class & parent
teachers of students.
The student welfare fund is in existence & extends financial help to the needy
students of the college. This fund has been floated on self supportive basis out of
fees collected from students who get 100% scholarship for full payment of their
fees & an indirect aid is provided in the form of reimbursement of travelling
expenses, fees, notebooks & other expenses of the student who do not get any
type of scholarship assistance.

Q. 36 Activities of guidance & counseling Unit
Counseling & guidance are given to students in the following activities:
I) Tutor Ward Activities :
The objective of tutor ward is to provide counseling & guidance about Academic
achievements & personality development of students. We form the group of student & each
group contains 25 to 30 participants. Separate teachers appointed as a tutor.
The student interacts with the tutor on base of their educational & personal problems
about matter of Economic & Social.
I. Besides this activities we display the advertisements on notice board, broachers,
Information, Clipping from the news paper & periodicals relating to professional
courses &
competitive examination. Several activities conducted to Overall development of
students.
II. Tasks & awareness session with students & their parents were organized.
III. Career Counseling, Resume preparation & interview tips delivered by teachers for
Student.
IV. Stress management while in going to face exam.
V. Inadequate concentration while learning.
VI. After result of 12th Std, teachers conducted door to door counseling programme
I) Field visits :-
1) Dept of Botany:-
Dept of botany organized study tour for academic year 2010-11 at guhagar area and
at balasaheb sawant Agricultural university of Dapoli.
In guhagar area they studied various types of plants like medicinal plants,
ornamental plants etc. in Agricultural visit at Dapoli University. They studied forestry
products.
2) Dept of Geology:-
Dept of Geology conducted study tour at shrigartali, Hadvi, unvare, phannale
kazi, in the Ratnagiri district. They studied various aspects of geology of area. It is
tour conducted for four days.
3) Dept of economics has organized study tour on the subject of foundation course
for the awareness of social environmental problem of guhagar.

I. Non-teaching staff has participated in one day workshop in ‘strees management’
organized by Arts, commerce, science college Dahisar Mumbai on dated 23rd November
2010.
II. The non-teaching staff has participated in one day workshop on “Yoga & Health”
organized by D.J.malpani college sangamner, Pune on dated 07 & 08 Jan 2011.
III. Principal motivates non-teaching staff for personality development we have 80%
computer literacy. Clarks & Head clerks completed 01 month certificate course in
communication skill in English conducted by college.
IV. Our peons participated in the Annual conference organized by non-Government –Non
teaching college employees Association held at Nashik.
V. 01 non-teaching staff participated in one day workshop on “Marathi Typing” organized
by Margtamanhe College.
VI. One non-teaching staff member participated in one day workshop on “Examination
reform program” sported by university of Mumbai organized at Gogate-Joglekar College
Ratnagiri on dated 19 march 2011.

1) Commerce Fair
For the development entrepreneurship among student the Dept. of commerce has
organized commerce fair in Youth festival. Students practically learned business skill. While
studding the curricular. Principal, governing, council member, teacher & non-teaching staff has
participated & enjoyed the fair.
2) Staff Academy
i) Workshop:- staff academy conducted feedback workshop on “Revised syllabus” in first
term at B.A., B.com. B.Sc, B.Sc IT faculty Level. Principal, Teachers & Student
Participated & discussed the level of the syllabus, stimulated period & topic, length of
topic, current relevance etc. some student at good suggestion in confederation with the
member of the board of study on dated 15th oct.2010.
