All work is to be done in accordance with the National building Regulations.All materials and workmanship are to comply with the relevant S.A.B.S.codes and or the specified international codes where applicable in theArchitectural specifications. The contractor shall in all aspects of the workscomply with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993(Act No 85 of 1993) and any regulations promulgated in terms of that Act orthe Factories Machinery and Building Works Act of 1941. The contractorshall set up, document and maintain a quality assurance and quality controlsystem, in accordance with SANS 9001/ISO 9001, able to be checked to thesatisfaction of the Architect, that all materials and workmanship, whatevertheir sources, meet the requirements of the Specification. Should theContractor or any of his sub-contractors be certified to the SANS 9000family of standards then monitor these works accordingly. This drawing mustbe read in conjunction with all the relevant drawings, schedules andspecifications and all other consultants related to the project. This drawing isnot to be scaled. Figured dimensions to be used. All dimensions are inmillimeters unless otherwise stated. All dimensions and levels must bechecked on site by the contractor before putting work in hand. All work to beexecuted by competent persons qualified for the specific trade.

FOUNDATION NOTES:ꞏ All foundations, foundation walls, retaining walls, sub soil stormwaterdrainage and soil compaction to Eng's spec & approval.ꞏ 230mm walls on min 600(w)x230(h) & 115mm walls on min 450(w)x250(h)strip foundations with 20mpa concrete.

SURFACE BED NOTES:ꞏ Internal surface bed 85mm 20mpa concrete on dpc & well compacted fill at150mm layers.ꞏ Slabs are not to be cast on in-situ material, allow to remove min. 300mmand re-compact in 150mm layers external surface bed 85mm 20mpaconcrete as above

WALL NOTES:ꞏ Brickwork: Clay stock keyed to receive plaster finishꞏ 230mm brick walls with brickforce every 4 courses and every course for 6courses over openings or to Eng's spec. & approvalꞏ All brickwork min 7 mpa with Class II mortar.

ROOF NOTES:ꞏ Refer to roof notes.

SANITARY & DRAINAGE NOTES:ꞏ Plumber to attain balanced hot & cold pressure to ensure the optimumoperation of mixer & tap fittings.ꞏ Soil & waste water 110mm uPVC pipe to fall min 1:40.ꞏ Provide i.e's to all bends and junctions in accordance with local authorityrequirements.ꞏ Provide c.e's at every change of direction.ꞏ Waste & SW pipes under floor slab to be encased in 100mm concrete andare not to carry any load.ꞏ All waste pipes to have 65mm re-seal traps and be accessible over entirelength for cleaning and repairs.ꞏ Conceal all pipe work.ꞏ Pipe sizes:
