Overviewofcourse Thiscourseisanoverviewofthefieldofaudienceresearchandintroducesthebasicfunctions,practices,ethicsandliterature.AudienceResearchenhancestheexperienceofthevisitorandadvancethemissionofamuseumbyprovidingdatathatsupportsknowledgeabledecisionsaboutprograms,exhibitsandotherinteractionswithvisitors. Thecourseisnotdesignedtofullypreparestudentstodesignandconductvisitorstudies,butrathertoacquaintthemwithbasicconceptsandprinciplesandarangeofwaystoassessexperiences.Thecoursewillnotcoverstatisticsordataanalysis.Thefieldofaudienceresearch(orvisitorstudies)isagrowingandimportantfield.Studentsinterestedinbecomingevaluatorsareencouragedtopursueadditionaltraining.
