Driven by a passion at the start of my career to create exciting images of industry, my peers couldn't understand my enfactuation
when all around was the possibility of photographing scantilly dressed women.
That was over twenty years ago.
It must just be a way of seeing. Or an appreciation of the skills invested by others in many of the things I photograph which still
provides the drive. Most of the time I look back and see that my passion to create eyecatching images is born out of situations
which otherwise would not command a second glance. After executing such an image it still fills me with pride that I have a skill
to see beyond the obvious and deliver a combination of composition, lighting and creativity which still fulfills the brief yet with
flourish of excitement.
If the economics of photography would permit it would be a delight to create all those 'other' images that can be seen yet still
await a suitable brief for execution.
I have experience in the Automotive, Chemical, Oil, Electronic, Rail, Construction, Manufacturing, Steel and most other industries
that you care to mention. With unfamiliar processes I love the site visit where every nut and bolt of a process is described like the
expectations for a new born child and precision engineering is happenning at 100 miles an hour (all parameters accounted for).
I shoot UK and Europe up to now, although my skills are readily transportable.
Oh, and I have big cameras, medium cameras and small cameras. Film or digital. And although the wet processes are being used
less and less, my images can still make your mouth water!

I have been fascinated by old industrial installations since my early childhood.
One day, I noticed, that the industrial world started to change rapidly and was in danger to disappear.
I started photographic documentation.
The result of this work is a still growing archive of partly historic photographs.
Although my intention exceeds 'pure' documentation, my design always focuses on the photographed object.
I created extensive documentations about the 'rust belt' and anthracite mines in Pennsylvania (1992), the Krupp coke works in
Rheinhausen (2001), the Tertre coke works (2002) and the Beringen colliery (2003), to name just a few examples.
My strong background on industrial history and historic technologies allows the creation of images, which are different from
photographs taken from a pure asthetical perspective.
Technically, I use to work with analog medium and large format cameras.

Professional photographer since 1985, Mario Guerra (Rome 1964) works mostly in industrial photography, corporate, architecture,
interiors, art, reportage, still life and portrait photography for advertising, communication and publishing concerns with
experience principally in Italy and the United States.
He works directly with the largest european companies within the chemical and petrochemical sectors, as well as steel and
mechanical engineering companies, aeronautics and aerospace, computers and military, energy, transport and
telecommunications, construction enterprises, architectural studies, museums and art galleries, executing both the lighting
required and the actual photography.
In addition to his professional activities he is working on several personal research projects, he teaches a biannual course in
industrial photography at the Istituto Superiore di Fotografia of Rome. He held courses of photography even at Istituto Europeo di
Design of Rome and seminars on lighting at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (University Diploma in Industrial Design -
Component Materials for Industrial Design 4 course).
While doing photographic work on location he has completed numerous "reportages" in Italy, Europe, Asia, North America, Central
America, South America and Africa. His photos and photo essays have been published by important Italian and foreign newspapers
and magazines. Recently, with his contribution, Rotovision has published Photographing Buildings.
Some of the publications which have profiled his work are: Photo Italia (June 2000), Zoom (Sept. 2000), Reflex (Aug. 2000 and Feb.
2001), Il Manifesto (June and August 2000), Viaggi di Repubblica (August 2000), Sette (Corriere della Sera June 2000), La

I have been a professional photographer since leaving college which gives me twenty years of hard earned experience. I have
worked for studios in Surrey, Cambridge, Manchester and have been self employed for over twelve years.
I currently shoot approximately 75% of my work on location for a diverse range of clients. My areas of work include industrial
locations across the UK and Europe, and includes annual reports, brochures, advertising, corporate, editorial, aerial, web and
intranet imaging. I have extensive knowledge of different film techniques and formats but most of my customers are preferring
either 35mm digital SLR files or my Hi-Res medium format digital files.
I have an extensive range of equipment which includes 35mm SLRDigital, medium format Hi-Res Digital(and film) and large fromat
5x4. I also have a fully portable array of high quality lighting which usually accompanies me on all my assignments.

Mr. Beech later formed Industrial Photography, Inc. in New Orleans and established a reputation as a corporate photographer, the
mainstay of his work being industrial, oil fields, aerials and advertising.
He is now retired and living in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Don Bryant Hargis has been practicing industrial photography for over four years and personal interest photography for over twelve
years. Industrial photography developed as an added service to professional infrared thermography wich required visual reference
images to accompany thermal pattern images. Approaching the rough and tough areas of industrial facilities and equipment with
creativity and perspective has become both a passion and enduring challance. The industrial photography practiced is coupled
with thermal and visual inspections – documentating the conditions of industrial assets.
Rather than take inexpensive low resolution digital images, we opted to prove high resolution, professional quality images of
industrial assets. These images enhanced the effectiveness of our inspection work and provided an avenue for further creative
expression.

Scott Schaffrick is a professional photographer residing in Hurley, New York, the heart of the beautiful Hudson Valley region. He
graduated from the Rhode Island School of Photography in Providence, Rhode Island with training in the fields of commercial,
advertising and industrial photography. After working in the corporate world as a studio and location photographer, Scott took a 10
year hiatus from photography and then reemerged in the world of action-sports photography.
In 2002, he signed on as the U.S. staff photographer for the Daily Peloton, a professional cycling website and currently
photographs the U.S. Pro-Cycling Tour. He is also engaged in producing a stock photography website specializing in action sports,
in addition to his editorial work and hopes to be able to provide you with high quality photographs from his perspective. In
addition to his professional training in photography, he is also a member of Sports Shooters, an association of professional sports

Architectural and industrial photography are the disciplines for which I have a real passion.
