Cheating:Cheating used to be considered an unmentionable sin. However, in this day and age, it has

become more common and somewhat of a daily occurrence. Cheating is more widespread than in

the past. According to the article titled education: The New Morality, cheating has not been anissue of values, but simply one of practically. This shows that many view cheating as a mereoccurrence and something that can often be skipped over. The reason cheating has become such apervasive movement is because many students tend to rationalize their cheating behavior. Acommon rationalization that many students use is, Thats the only way Ill get any where in life.Many students also tend to incorpoThis usually occurs when someone does not study for a test or

just does not feel like thinking. Also one might do it because he knows he can get away with it.There is a wide range of cheating that can go in schools. It can be a simple as coping one word, to

coping the whole test. Whatever the extent of the cheating, that does not make it right. Intodays society, teens just assume that cheating is an expectable way of getting through test.They dont care even though the consequences.

Since cheating has been a problem in our society, there have been many attempts to rid theworld of this problem. Such attempts include creating honor code forms of punishment, andpossibly a computer-integrated classroom.

Is it worth it?

Students can acquire superior grades bycheating. But is it worth it?

Students that cheat are often those whodont study and that are lazy. Strangelythey dont notice that the effort they put incheating is often equivalent or more thanthe time it takes to study. The student that

cheats will never get to experience thesense of hard work. Worst of all the peoplewho cheat dont gain any knowledge.

a) parental pressures

b) To get good grades

c) the aim to be the best

d) the lack of time

e) teachers dont seem to care, to stop cheating.

How Modern Technology Has AffectedEducation ?

There is no doubt technology has made our liveseasier, more manageable, and most things can be donefaster and in many cases simpler. Has technology alsomade it simpler for people to cheat?

Technology really is a double-edged sword whenit comes to cheating. The means for detectingcheating are catching up with the means for cheating.

Technology has provided more ways to cheat. Insteadof depending on a neighbors paper, students now usetheir calculators, cell phones, PDAs, and other handygadgets to store and be accessed during the tests orquiz.

Preventing cheating:

As the teacher, there are many different things that you can do toprevent cheating. You may want to consider establishing an honor code at the

beginning of the school year.

Stop It Before It Starts:

1) Establish a Clear Policy of Rules and Repercussions

2) Keep It Covered Up

3) Make Your Own Test

4) Avoid Multiple Choice

5) Make Multiple Versions of the Test

Steps to prevent cheating during Exams/Tests:

a) Watch the students carefully during testing

b) Limit electronics in examination Hall

c) Do not leave answers to the test on the desk

d) Do not leave the room during test

e) Establish a no talking policy

f) spread the students

g) If classroom is cramped, consider administering testsin the school ground/cafeteria .

h) Do not allow students to keep unnecessary things

Conclusion:

Prevention is preferable to punishment.

It is bad to cheat, but the consequences are worse. Studentsloose their confidence , do not play active part in etc.

People that cheat will go through life believing, that they can

any time. When the moment comes and cheating is not an optionthey will not have a clue to do the task. If they do not study and dothe work themselves they will never learn from their mistakes andsucceed in life.
