Breathtaking adventures and extreme value for money are the hallmarks of a ‘You Just Live Once’ trip. Our trips are aimed at travellers who prefer a fun, independent, convenient and responsible way to travel. The structure for a great travel experience is in place, but plenty of free time means you can go off and make your own discoveries. What makes us different from other tour operators is that we do what we do because we love it and we enjoy doing it... we don’t do this for profit. In fact, most of our trips are led by us personally or we are part of the group. Driven by our dedication, passion and experience we strive to make each tour more exciting and interesting than the last. Whenever it is not possible for us to be on the trips, we only use local leaders. This is our core philosophy, and one that works perfectly. By employing a leader who is local to the area you are travelling through, you benefit from the wealth of his or her first hand knowledge. He knows the best restaurants to eat in, the best food to choose when you’re there and how to read the menu! He knows the best time to visit the sites, the best way to get from A to B, the best backstreets to explore, and most importantly how to communicate with everyone else in the country. Fully trained, licensed and fluent in English, your local guide will be the difference between a great holiday experience and an exceptional one.

“The itinerary was amazing viewing the best highlights of the amazing Brazil, fantastic. All the excursions were well organised and great, we made some great new friends and we had the time of our life… and all of this a whacking good price!! Brazil. What an amazing country! YouJustLiveOnce.com if you want a unique trip.” Duncan Borg

“It was a huge leap of faith for me to entrust YJLO with my long dreamed-about trip to Peru. I had consulted foreign agencies before coming across YJLO, but something struck me as right about this agency, and the staff's enthusiasm for exciting travel is infectious. I went with my gut feeling and trusted them with all my holiday arrangements. They were extremely patient and helpful with all my questions, especially since I did this trip alone. All I can say is that my instinct was 100% correct: the trip was one of the most wonderful things I have done in my life, everything went smoothly, and never once did I feel lost or was forgotten by any local reps. The excursions and activities were one burst of excitement after the other and the standard of the hotels was just right for me (clean, not too many frills, but not cheap hostel stuff either). My experience with YJLO was perfect, and I can honestly recommend YJLO to anyone who loves seeing and exploring the world more closely and with enthusiasm. As soon as I can afford another trip like this, YJLO will be the one I call first!” Adrian Cardona “Real travelling with a difference. Value for money; active trips for those who like nature and culture, who like to meet new interesting people...You just live once....so grab your backpack and travel.” Claudio Bezzina

“A very well organised fun-packed trip to a well chosen destination offering scenic sights, a great choice of activities and a world of adventure. Fun tour guide and company. A truly memorable experience. Well done and thanks!” Jackie Briffa

“This is the second time I have travelled with YJLO, and it has once again been a pleasure. The itinerary fitted what I wanted to see most in South Morocco, and it followed a logical order. The company was brilliant and it was a very enjoyable trip. YJLO trips are not for people who want everything served on a plate, but for those travellers who are active and enjoy an absorbing, interesting and fun holiday, YJLO is definitely the way to go!” Adrian Cardona

“Nothing in life is perfect but the trips Youjustliveonce.com organises, it’s fair to say, are pretty much as close as you can get!....And I'm a pretty critical person :)” Stephanie Cassar

“YJLO is the best source for adventurous trips. I wouldn't call them tours because that surely wouldn't do them justice.” Robert Vella

“It was a very memorable experience travelling with Youjustliveonce.com. The itineraries were excellent and the tour guide showed us his experience and preparation in travelling. The trekking and site seeing were impressive. If I went to Slovenia alone, I'm sure that I had missed some magnificent attractions that the tour guide planned for us. The hotels chosen were also comfortable, central and the all the amenities required. This was very value for money holiday and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for an active and enjoyable holiday.” Antonella Massa

“I really want to thank YouJustLiveOnce for their dedication to make this trip an unforgettable one. I met lots of interesting people that were so friendly and willing to help. “Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends we choose.” I think this quote fits just right for this trip we experienced together. If it was not for all the great people that were on this trip, this holiday would have not been so successful as it was.” Andrew Giordmaina

MALTA – KAUNAS – DRUSKININKAI Our trip will start in Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania. Since the only direct flight from Malta is with Ryanair who don’t have a fixed-price structure, it is not possible to include the price of the flight in the trip price. It is assumed that everyone travelling on this trip will fly on Ryanair flight FR8658 but anyone is free to make alternative flight arrangements for him/herself. Our flight will depart from Malta at 14:45 and will arrive in Kaunas 3 ½ hours later. Upon arrival at the airport, we will meet our local guide and drive to Druskininkai, our base for the night. Druskininkai is the largest and one of the most exciting resorts in Lithuania. It is famous for its natural surroundings, health spa amenities, museums, architectural monuments of local importance and leisure time activities. Everyone who visits the resort is attracted by its highly developed servicing, friendly local inhabitants and healthy environment. One day 2, we won’t have a fixed schedule since in Druskininkai there are a number of options which cater for different tastes and different people might prefer to partake in different activities. For example one can choose to take a leisurely boat trip across the Nemunas river to Liskiava, famous for its 17th century sacral ensemble vaults or the more adventurous can opt for a 3hr bicycle ride along one of the picturesque cycle trails available or even take a zip line course on the shores of the river. Obviously there will always be the option to visit one of the famous spa centers and enjoy one of the many therapeutic and relaxing treatments which the town of Druskininkai is so famous for. Once the group is closed the various options can be discussed and a plan for the day can be drafted. We will spend 2 nights in Druskininkai and dinner is included on both days. Accommodation will be in Hotel Regina or similar http://www.regina.lt/en

DRUSKININKAI – TRAKAI – VILNIUS

After breakfast at our hotel we will make a quick visit to the nearby Grūtas Park – a controversial open air museum with a large collection of Soviet-era statues and Soviet ideological relics collected from around the country after Lithuania obtained its independence in 1990. After Grūtas we will drive to Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to visit the symbol of medieval Lithuania: Trakai Island Castle. The castle is the only one of its kind in Easter Europe and its Gothic architecture combined with the beautiful natural setting of Lake Galve around it make it not only unique but impressive. In the afternoon we’ll head 30 km east to Vilnius... Lithuania’s capital city. Vilnius’ old town was listed as a UNESCO Heritage site in 1994 and although it is one of the largest in Europe, it is relatively easy to navigate and best explored on foot. It’s well preserved mixture of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and classical architecture as well as its medieval layout and natural setting make it one of the most beautiful old towns in Central and Eastern Europe. During our walking tour we will see amongst others the Parliament building in the famous Gediminas Avenue, St. Peter & Paul’s Church, Cathedral Square, Vilnius University, Town Hall Sqaure, St. Anne’s Church and the Gates of Dawn. The rest of the evening will be free and we’ll have dinner (included) at a traditional Lithuanian restaurant. Tonight, accommodation will be in Europa City Hotel Vilnius or similar http://www.europacity.lt

VILNIUS – RUNDALE – RIGA After breakfast we’ll start driving north towards the Lithuanian border with Latvia. We will stop to visit the famous Rundāle Palace. Set amidst the fertile Zemgale Plains in the south of Latvia, the complex is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo architecture in the Baltics. Following the visit to the palace we will continue our way towards Riga where we will have a free evening. Riga, Latvia’s capital city has over the last decade experienced a new Renaissance as many large-scale restoration projects on old buildings have made it one of the most attractive cities in Europe. Most famously, Riga is home to the largest concentration of Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) architecture in the world. Riga has become an increasingly popular destination for Europeans drawn by its old town, its historical importance, and its reputation as having the best nightlife in Europe. Day 5 will be dedicated to discovering all that beautiful Riga has to offer. We will first start with a panoramic tour encompassing the most significant sights such as Bastion Hill, Powder Tower, the Latvian National Theatre, the Fine Arts Museum and the Latvian National Opera House. Then we will take a leisurely walking tour along the picturesque streets of the old town visiting the Dome Cathedral, the Church of St. Peter, the old Guild Houses, the Swedish Gate, St. Jacob’s Church, the Parliament House and the Old Riga Castle in the process. A nice way to round off today’s sightseeing would be a boat trip (extra) along the Daugava River. The rest of the evening is free. On day 4 dinner will be at the hotel and on day 5 it will be at a traditional Latvian restaurant. Accommodation on both nights will be in Days Hotel Riga or similar http://www.dayshotelriga.com

RIGA – PÄRNU – TALLINN

After breakfast we leave Riga and head across the Latvia-Estonia border with our final destination for the day being Tallinn, Estonia’s capital city.

First we will stop in Pärnu which has become Estonia’s summer capital since the first spa opened here in the 1830s. We’ll have the possibility to swim in the Baltic Sea before continuing the drive to Tallinn. The rest of the evening in Tallinn will be free.

Tallinn is a sea cost capital in the Gulf of Finland. Once a medieval Hanseatic town and for long periods in history dominated by the Germans, Swedes and Russians, Tallinn today contain lots of influence from those days but still manages to retain an Estonian soul and identity. At the historical and medieval heart of the city is the hill of Toompea, covered in cobbled streets and filled with medieval houses and alleyways. The lower town spreads out from the foot of the hill, still protected by the remnants of a city wall. Around the city wall is a series of well-maintained green parks, great for strolling. The city's old town has been astonishingly well preserved and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. It is now in better shape than ever, with the bigger roads converted into fashionable shopping streets.

Needless to say, Tallinn holds many interesting sights to be explored and after breakfast on day 7, this is what we’ll do. After the guided tour around the city, main highlights, we’ll have ample free time during which one might want to partake into some extra activity. An original option would be an easy kayaking trip along the harbours, ports, sea forts and the Soviet buildings and landmarks that dot Tallinn’s cityscape.

On day 6, dinner will be at the hotel and on day 7 it will be at a traditional Estonian restaurant. Accommodation on both nights will be in Reval Park Hotel & Casino or similar www.parkhotel.ee

TALLINN – SIGULDA

After breakfast departure we’ll leave Tallinn and drive south in the direction of Sigulda in Latvia.

Sigulda is in the heart of Gauja National Park - a mountainous region which has long been cherished as Latvia's most beautiful. The national park is famous for its ancient oak forests, the cave-lined banks of the Gauja river and medieval castles.

Apart from its natural beauty, Sigulda is heaven for the adventurous types. We’ll have ample time to enjoy a number of optional activities which range from hikes and bicycle rides in nature trails to an adrenalin-pumping bobsleigh ride down a 1420m Olympic track or a gravity-defying flight in a vertical wind tunnel not to mention the possibility to roll down hills in a giant transparent air-filled ball or zooming from tree to tree in the canopy of the forest!

Later in the day, when the adrenalin’s back down to normal levels, we’ll drive down into the river valley to the visit the 13th century Turaida Castle - the former residence of the Bishop of Riga. We’ll climb the 30m fortification tower to enjoy the view of ‘the Garden of Gods’ and visit the local history museum.

The rest of the evening is free. Overnight and dinner will be in Hotel Sigulda or similar http://www.hotelsigulda.lv

SIGULDA – HILL OF CROSSES – PALANGA

Day 9 is the day with the longest driving time... around 4 hours in all. However, we’ve got a couple of very interesting stops along the way. Our first stop will be the Hill of Crosses, situated in the middle of the countryside outside Šiauliai. It is believed that the first crosses were placed on the hill after the 1831 uprising. Over the centuries, not only crosses, but giant crucifixes, carvings of Lithuanian patriots, statues of the Virgin Mary and thousands of tiny effigies and rosaries have been brought here by Catholic pilgrims. The exact number of crosses is unknown, but estimates put it at over 100,000. Driving west from the Hill of Crosses, we’ll reach the resort town of Palanga on the Baltic coast. There we will visit the beautifully landscaped 19th century Botanical Park and the Amber Museum in the Palace of Count Tyszkiewicz, home for over 25,000 pieces of amber and 15,000 insect inclusions. We will walk along the coast to the legendary Birute Hill from where we can enjoy impressive views of the seascape before arriving at Klaipeda, our base for the night. Accommodation and dinner will be in Memel Hotel or similar http://www.memelhotel.lt

KLAIPEDA – NIDA

After breakfast on day 10, we’ll take a short city tour of Klaipėda, the main seaport of Lithuania before taking the ferry to the Curonian Spit, a peculiar unique patch of land, washed by the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. In 2000, the Curonian Spit was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the most beautiful and unique landscapes of Europe. A combined coach and walking tour through the beautiful wild natural surroundings of sand dunes, pine forests and golden beaches makes an unforgettable trip to. We will visit Juodkrante, a quaint town on the Curonian Spit home to the Hill of Witches which houses a hundred fanciful and folksy wooden sculptures scattered along a forest path. Further deep along the peninsula we’ll reach Nida. Previously a fishermen’s village, today Nida is a nice resort town and also the biggest settlement and administrative center of the Curonian Spit. We’ll enjoy a pleasant walk in Nida and then we’ll have ample time to relax or partake in optional activities such as cycling tours in the woods, canoe along the dunes or take a boat trip right up to the border of the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. In the evening we’ll return back to Klaipeda where we will enjoy dinner at a traditional restaurant. Accommodation will be in the same hotel as yesterday.

KLAIPEDA – KAUNAS – MALTA

After breakfast we’ll drive to Kaunas, Lithuania’s second largest city and historically the leading centre of Lithuanian economic, academic, and cultural life. Kaunas has several districts and interesting sites but the focus is around the old town built between the XIV and XVII centuries. We’ll take a city tour which will include the ruins of Kaunas Castle, Town Hall Square with its impressive monuments, the Cathedral and a stroll along the renovated Vilnius street with its original old architecture. We’ll also have free time before we transfer to the airport at around 19:00 from where we’ll catch the Ryanair flight to Malta which departs at 20:25
