2. Rental of Graduation Gown and Dress Code for Graduation

Graduation Attire for SP Graduands

All graduands attending the graduation ceremony are required to wear the graduation attire, consisting of a simple, one piece robe, without hood, cap or mortar board. Graduands can opt to either purchase or rent the graduation attire.

When considering what to wear with the graduation attire, you are advised to follow the guidelines below in order to look smart on your graduation day:

Female Graduands Male Graduands

White shirt/ blouse with long sleeves and high collar.

White shirt with long sleeves, high collar and dark coloured tie. SP tie would be sold at the SPCC (level 2) on the actual graduation day

Dark coloured pants/ skirt.

Skirt should be knee-length or longer.

Dark coloured trousers/ pants.

Bermudas, shorts, jeans, casual pants are not allowed.

Dark coloured court shoes/ pumps.

Open-toe/ strappy/ high-heel sandals, slippers, track shoes, sneakers are not allowed.

Dark coloured shoes with socks.

Slippers, sandals & track shoes are not allowed.

Graduands should have neat hairdo so that the face can be seen clearly during photography.

White/ beige/ cream coloured head scarves for Muslim graduands who wish to wear traditional attire.

National servicemen are expected to change into the recommended attire as indicated above.

SP’s graduation attire should not be worn over the army uniform.

COLLECTION OF GRADUATION ATTIRE

Serangoon Broadway has been appointed by SP to supply and manage the rental and sale

of graduation attire to graduands. All graduands attending the graduation ceremony are required

to go to Serangoon Broadway to try on and collect the attire. (Please refer to the next page

for details.)

Important : Graduands are required to bring along their Identity Card/ SP Student Card/Passport for identification purposes before trying on and collecting the attire.

APPOINTMENT FOR COLLECTION OF GRADUATION ATTIRE

Graduands may order the graduation attire and make an appointment for the graduation attire collection at http://www.serangoonbroadway.com.

The collection of graduation attire is from 03 April 2018 to 29 April 2018. Note that Serangoon Boardway is closed on 1 May 2018

Please follow the steps below to order the graduation attire and make appointment for the collection:1. Go to http://www.serangoonbroadway.com homepage2. Graduands may choose to make an appointment for the academic dress collection immediately after the submission of the academic dress order form OR at any other convenient time by logging in again. Please note that if you have already submitted your academic dress order form online and would like to re-log in to book an appointment or make any changes, please log in using your NRIC/FIN number and mobile number instead of the generic username and password as above.

AUTHORISED COLLECTION OF GRADUATION ATTIREIf graduands are unable to collect the graduation attire personally, they could complete the authorisation form on Page 7 and appoint someone to collect it on your behalf.

The authorised person must present the following to collect the graduation attire on the graduand’s behalf: • Duly completed and signed authorisation form,• Graduand’s student card or a copy of graduand's SP student card/ NRIC/ Passport and• Authorised person's NRIC or passport

PAYMENT OF GRADUATION ATTIRE Graduands may choose to either purchase or rent the graduation attire directly from Serangoon Broadway (from 3 Apr to 29 Apr 2018) at any time during their operating hours. The charges for the sale and rental of graduation attire are as follows:

(a) Purchase PriceAttire Only - $45 ($48.15 inclusive of 7% GST)

Attire + Garment Bag - $55 ($58.85 inclusive of 7% GST)

(b) Rental Fee & Refundable Deposit Attire - $22 ($23.54 inclusive of 7% GST) Refundable Deposit - +$25 Total Charges - $47 ($48.54 inclusive of 7% GST)

Payment has to be made directly to Serangoon Broadway when you collect the attire. The payment can be made in cash or by NETS.

Graduands who opt to rent the graduation attire are advised to keep their Graduation Attire Rental Receipt carefully as it will be needed when you return the attire.

RETURN OF GRADUATION ATTIRE

Graduands who opt to rent the graduation attire must return it directly to Serangoon Broadway by 20 May 2018 with Graduation Attire Rental Receipt.

For graduands who are unable to return the graduation attire personally, they may authorise someone to return it on their behalf. The authorisation form can be found on page 8. Graduands must ask the authorised person to return the attire directly to Serangoon Broadway by 20 May 2018.

IMPORTANT Your deposit will be fully refunded if the graduation attire is return in good condition. Your deposit will be forfeited if you do not return the attire by the stipulated deadline, or if the graduation attire is returned damaged.

3. Not Attending the Graduation CeremonyWhat should I do if I am unable to attend the graduation ceremony?

Graduands will only receive their diploma & academic transcript on the day of the

graduation ceremony and no earlier. If you are unable to attend the ceremony, you may

collect your diploma certificate, transcripts and prizes (if any) in any one of the following

ways:

Option 1: Personal Collection of Diploma You can collect your diploma and transcript personally at PACE Academy Office from 11 May 2018, with your NRIC, Passport or Student Card as proof of your identity.

Option 2: Authorised Collection of Diploma Graduates who are unable to come down personally to collect their diplomas, certificates, transcripts & prizes may authorise their family members to collect their documents on their behalf from 11 May 2018 at PACE Academy Office with the following items:

1. The authorisation letter (duly completed and signed),2. The authorized person’s NRIC or passport, and3. The original graduand’s student card (or NRIC or passport).

Important

Requests via fax, telephone or email will not be entertained.

Photocopies of Graduate's NRIC/ passport/ SP student card will not be accepted.

Please note that the Singapore Polytechnic bears no responsibility for the loss ordamage of documents if this option is chosen.

Important Notes:

- Graduands are reminded to settle all outstanding library fines and loans at least twoweeks before the graduation ceremony. Failure to clear your library fines or returnoutstanding items will result in a delay in the collection of your academic transcriptsand diploma certificate.

- Graduands who have registered to say that they are attending the GraduationCeremony will be allowed to invite up to two guests only. The number of invitationcards issued to each graduand is controlled due to limited seating capacity in the SPConvention Centre (SPCC).

- During the ceremony, graduands will be presented with their diplomas in alphabeticalorder of name, according to their courses of study. Seat numbers will be assignedaccording to the order that graduands are presented on stage, hence they must beseated at their assigned seat.

- Guests do not have assigned seats and will be ushered to designated seating blocksby the ushers in a separate section from graduands. Seating at the designated blockswill be on a first-come-first-serve basis as directed by the ushers, hence guests areencouraged to arrive early to get good seats.

- Graduands and guests who are feeling unwell are advised not to attend the GraduationCeremony.

- Children below 7 years old will not be allowed into the Convention Centre. They willbe ushered and seated in a near-by venue (the Auditorium).

AUTHORISATION FORM FOR THE RETURN OF GRADUATION ATTIRE

Rented attire must be returned to Serangoon Broadway by 20 May 2018

As I am unable to return my graduation attire in person, I would like to authorise the
