March Flea Market – This eventwas quite successful, netting $1700.Thanks to all who donated items forthe sale. Thanks to all of the SVYCmembers who supported the event, especially setting up the tables andputting the club back together againafter the event was over. Thanks toall of the Even Keels members who manned the tables andthe kitchen. We did a brisk business selling lunch items. The Saur’s were the winners of the basket raffle. Unsolditems were donated to Hospice of Venice. If you have anyideas for next year that we didn’t cover in the March EvenKeels meeting, please let me know.
March Meeting –Susan E. Gregory, an elder law attorneyand advocate, gave a very informative talk. Club memberswere quite interested and Susan answered many of theirquestions – she gave us a lot to think about! If you have anysuggestions for speakers when we resume meeting in theFall, please contact Joris Reintsema, Even Keels VicePresident, who will be planning future meeting programs.

See Micki Granados to purchase aticket and give her your choice of oriental salad at $18.50;salmon at $19.50; or chicken crepes at $19.50. We hope tosee many of the past presidents attend!
TGIF – There will be no more TGIFs at this time. We mayreconsider in the Fall.

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Thanks to all who have sent me yourrequest to receive future Yacht Yarnsvia e-mail. Your decision will benefitthe club by allowing us to redirect ourmonies from publication anddistribution of the Yacht Yarn, toother critical club priorities. Fromthose whom I have not heard from, give it a try. Remember, you can always print out acopy, in living color, and read it at your convenience, whenever and wherever you please. Let's “kick it up anotch;” live on the edge; get on the band wagon!Boldly go where no one has gone before. OK, that'senough of that. Be all that you can be (sorry, it's hardto stop when you get on a roll).
Remember, the Yacht Yarns are also available to youany time on our Website www.svyclub.com along withall the great pictures taken at our Dinner Dances. Youcan also find a variety of other information includingBoard and General meeting minutes. Let me know ifyou're having any problems accessing this information.Once you try it, you'll never go back.
Grand prize winner ... Merilyn Bumpus. She identifiedthe young lady on the horse, in the March issue oftheYacht Yarn, as Sandra Brookshire. You go girl!Congratulations Merilyn!
I didn't get any takers on the riddle last month, i.e.When Jane had her birthday in the year 2000 shebecame 8 years old. But she was born in the year 2008.How can you explain this? The answer: Jane was born in year 2008 B.C.(Before Christ -B.C. years are counted in reverseorder).
And for April’s riddle: I'm full of holes, yet I'mfull of water. What am I?
Until next time remember: "The happiest of peopledon't necessarily have the best of everything; they justmake the most of everything that comes along theirway." - Karen S. Magee

Launching Ramp Update
On Mar. 21st there was adesign conference attendedby Joe Knowles, BruceWeaver and Charlie Rossi.A preliminary blueprint was reviewedand revised. It's starting to look like a16-foot by 3 foot dock, floating at theouter end, on a flexible hinge abouthalfway back on the ramp, rising andfalling with the tide. Charlie, Joe, andBruce have the tools and arepricing marine-grade lumber andfloats...
Please note that the Cocktail Sponsors for a particular Dinner Dance will also serve as Greeters.
