We give you choice, flexibility, and the opportunity to accelerate your studies if you wish.

Academic Excellence Track
At Hult, the most academically talented students are given a range of incentives and opportunities for accelerated degree progression. If you achieve outstanding results in your first year of study, you can be eligible to take one extra course during the following Fall and Winter Terms, potentially earning 6 additional credits every year.

THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM
A curriculum for employability
Recent research conducted by Hult revealed that employers feel most university graduates enter the workforce without the critical skills needed to succeed in business. We’ve specifically built our undergraduate curriculum with this insight in mind. Throughout your time at Hult, you will gain hands-on business experience with a focus on communication, cross-cultural competency, and teamwork.
Hult Business Challenge
The Hult Business Challenge is a unique Capstone Project, in which you will be asked to work in teams led by a faculty mentor to tackle a critical social or business problem. Your team will then pitch a solution developed over months of collaboration to real business leaders. Designed to hone your presentation and entrepreneurial skills, the Hult Business Challenge is an opportunity few other undergraduates could hope to experience.
High-value internships
Experience equals employability in competitive job markets, and internships give you the experience needed to stand out. You’ll work closely with our Career Services department and a faculty mentor to choose an internship aligned with your career aspirations. Along with the opportunity to add real value to an established business or a start-up, you’ll also have the option to complete an in-depth research project as part of your internship.

Your CurriculumWherever you choose to study at Hult, the one thing that remains consistent across all of our global campuses is the quality and rigor of our academic curriculum. At Hult, you’ll master the fundamentals of global business while having the freedom to pursue your passions and gain invaluable real-world experience.
32
Curriculum overview Hult’s well-rounded curriculum is designed to develop the global mindset you need to thrive in any career you choose. Our program blends skills, experience, and knowledge across a range of courses including General Education and Leadership Development, Business Core, Electives, and Major courses culminating in a Capstone Project.
Business Core
The Business Core helps you to build a solid foundation in each functional area of business administration. Through these courses, you will learn to see how these functional areas fit together, and which ones are most suited to your interests and abilities.
Your knowledge will be placed in the context of the increasingly complex global environment that businesses must operate in, with a focus on how to solve international issues and challenges. By exposing you to a wide range of disciplines, the Business Core curriculum will create a platform for you to decide your Major and choose your Elective courses.
In your final two years, you’ll complete the Business Core by taking advanced classes, which integrate recurring themes in global business. These challenging courses call upon you to think strategically about global business models, ethics, and practices.
General Education
& Leadership Development
Hult’s unique approach to General Education has been defined with the aim of developing future business leaders. Our professors know that the number one skill most CEOs look for when hiring is the ability to communicate effectively.
From your first year at Hult, your courses will focus on developing your teamwork, relationship building, cross-cultural communication, and public speaking skills. Additionally, you will become comfortable working with data and spreadsheets. The cumulative impact of these courses ensures that, from early in your degree, you will have developed the core skills that your current professors and future employers value so highly.
As you progress through our General Education curriculum, you will acquire knowledge and experience across a range of disciplines, from arts and humanities to science and technology. The themes of globalization and cross-cultural diversity run through all courses in this area of the curriculum and build up to your final-year Global Citizenship class.
YOUR CURRICULUM
Major (Your area of specialization)
Your Major is a level of concentrated study within your preferred business field. Hult offers five Majors: Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and Finance. By the end of your second year, or once you’ve achieved 60 credits, you will choose your Major. This choice largely dictates your course options during your final years of study, and often aligns closely with your career aspirations.
Electives
Along with your Major, you will also take Elective courses. Typically, these will be related to your area of specialization, but you may also choose to further your knowledge in other areas of business, or take additional General Education and Leadership Development courses. How you fill your Elective courses is entirely up to you.
Capstone Project
In your final year, you’ll complete a Capstone Project for your degree. This project will be relevant to your interests and Major and will represent the culmination of your studies. You can complete your capstone in one of three ways: by taking part in the Hult Business Challenge, writing a thesis, or undertaking a high-value internship.

That’s OK—you don’t have to choose a Major right away. In your first few years at Hult, you’ll have time to discover your strengths and interests through Core courses, clubs, visiting speakers, and project opportunities. Your professors, the Deans, and the Career Services department are also on hand to help you decide on the Major that is best aligned with your personal goals.
As part of Hult’s Leadership Development
training, you will be asked to debate ethical
and philosophical issues and critically
evaluate their wider international context.
You will learn to think creatively about how to
succeed and present your ideas with passion
and confidence.

Professor Lanteri is a thought leader on entrepreneurship and business ethics. He has lectured widely on these subjects across Europe and the U.S. and his research has been published internationally. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and has served as a consultant to the United Nations Joint Program Against HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
Which courses do you teach? Every year I teach several courses in the field of entrepreneurship, such as Corporate Entrepreneurship, Social Innovation in Finance, and Social Entrepreneurship.
What is your teaching style?
Classes are very varied. They tend to be less of a lecture—I don’t feel that I "instruct" my students, because I feel that it is more of a dialogue. This is wonderful for me as a professor too because I learn from them.
How would you describe the teacher–student relationship at Hult?
I have a nice, informal relationship with my students. Often they will come by my desk to ask for advice or send me an email to share the projects that they are pursuing. I feel like I manage to interact with them and share my knowledge with them beyond the structure of a class.
What advice would you give to a prospective student?
Your undergraduate years are a time to invest in your personal and professional growth. Take the time to learn new languages and other skills that you can apply to a variety of fields. Travel extensively and enjoy life!
Alessandro LanteriItalyAssociate Professor of Entrepreneurship
“The kind of diversity we have among our students somehow generates, over the course of their studies, a global student. That is how you might define a Hult student, whatever their background. Maybe you have one student who comes from Asia and one from America, but by the end of their course, they have both changed. I see it all the time—students become more mature and more international in their thinking. There is so much value in this.”

Professor Rukare is widely published and active in the fields of entrepreneurship and policy development, particularly in the oil and gas sector. As part of his most recent research, he has investigated state and corporate responsibility for sustainable development. In 2015, he was voted by students as Hult’s Most Inspirational Professor in recognition of his creative and engaging approach to teaching.
Which courses do you teach? Courses I teach include: Disruptive Innovation, Change Management, Family Business, New Product Development, and Project Management.
What is the atmosphere like in your classroom?
In class, I encourage students to be open-minded, but I also encourage them to challenge and to question. If a student has a particular interest or particular knowledge, I encourage them to lead in that subject. When other students see this, they also feel able to contribute.
How do you approach teaching?
With my students, I want to lower barriers—I want them to be able to approach and engage with me. I try to encourage them to call me Daniel. However, some still call me Professor Rukare, and others call me "Sir." I keep telling them that I’ve not been knighted yet, but when I am, I will definitely let you know!
What is the homework like in your classes?
Homework is more about the practical application of what’s covered in class. Hult students are always keen on understanding how to apply a theoretical concept that they’ve learned to real situations. The industries we look at are constantly evolving and changing, so I encourage students to source information from more unconventional sources like blogs, The Financial Times, and to look at which new companies are trending.
Daniel RukareUgandaProfessor of Management and Innovation Most Inspirational Professor, Hult Awards 2015
“Hult is a family. You develop personal relationships here—students and professors are able to engage on a one-to-one basis, and I get to understand my students better. Students don’t fly under the radar here. Instead, they have the opportunity to stand out and demonstrate where their strengths lie. ”

At Hult, we are dedicated to preparing you for a successful global career. Our approach to Career Services is about much more than just polishing your resume. It’s about helping you realize your potential so that you become the kind of person that employers want to hire.
First and second year: The first two years are about getting to know yourself, exploring your interests, and identifying your unique strengths. You’ll start developing your skills and getting to know the things you’re most passionate about. You’ll have the opportunity to listen to employers and business leaders when they visit campus, as well as participate in clubs and societies that focus on everything from marketing to law. You can also take your Personal Career Development Elective in your second year or wait and do it in your third year.
Your undergraduate journey
Your undergraduate years are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invest in yourself for your future career and success. It’s a time to explore, to get to know yourself, and to try out new things. During your time at Hult, you’ll have an open door to our Career Services team, which you can use as often as you like.
Our Career Services team offers personalized advising sessions to help you identify your unique skills and find opportunities to explore your interests. They will also help you to review your resume, get ready for interviews, and offer advice on landing and negotiating job offers. Career preparation is built into our curriculum too, so once you graduate you’ll be ready for an exciting global career.
Third year: Your third year is when you really start to focus on your career aspirations. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to apply for an internship and take part in an Internship Readiness Workshop to make sure you get the most out of it. You’ll also work with the Career Services team to develop your resume, as well as consider if getting a Master degree in Business might be the right option for you.
Fourth year: Your final year is about preparing for the next steps on your journey—graduation and employment. You’ll attend career fairs, meet employers, and start your job search. We also encourage those students who have excelled academically to apply for prestigious Leadership Development Programs at the world’s leading corporations. Some of our students also continue on to our one-year Master of International Business degree for an additional qualification.
