A message fromthe President
It is that time of the year, we gather to discuss and deliberate on entrepreneurship under the umbrella of TiEcon. The attempt each year has been to focus on showcasing marquee entrepreneurs, provide a platform for the start-ups who are finding their feet and to felicitate the power and promise of Entrepreneurship. From the basic themes of encouraging and celebrating entrepreneurship, we moved to Kerala the Entrepreneurial Destination as the theme of TiEcon 2017.
Unfortunately we were hit badly by devastating floods which has taken several hundred human lives and caused unprecedented destruction to our infrastructure including the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Kerala. People including large number of businessmen and entrepreneurs are slowly recovering and currently involved in the process of rebuilding their damaged/lost assets. GoK has already launched a massive initiative to mobilize resources to rebuild the damaged/washed out infrastructure like building Roads, Communication Systems, etc. TiE Kerala had joined hands with Government of Kerala (Department of Industries) in the Rescue & Relief Operations during the floods and continue to contribute towards the rehabilitation of the victims.
We propose to continue our association with GoK and various other NGOs involved in Rebuilding Kerala. As a first step, we have chosen
the theme of TiEcon 2018 - as “Rebuild Kerala – Leveraging Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies”.We are
keen to hear various perspectives, at the conference, on what the state should focus on the inputs from world-class speakers from not just India but across the globe. We also want to see and explore these ideas through the lens of few unique features of Kerala.
We intend to focus not only on the Entrepreneurs & Technocrats but also the Policy Makers and some of the Key players in the State bureaucracy. We hope that we can create a wide panorama of information, experience sharing and bring together people from different walks of entrepreneurship and public life who can contribute to the challenging task of Rebuilding a new Kerala.
We hope to see you at Hotel Le Meridien, in Kochi on the 16th and 17th of November …
Warm Regards,
MSA Kumar
President - TiE Kerala
