To do the impossible, one has to learn to see the invisible

For the last four and a half years I have been gardening and nurturing a strong community of behavior analysts who serve the local community impacted by autism. With my support, two of Teaching Tree's employees became seeds and branched into private practice to create diversity and reach further into our community. It is important for me to continue to bring professional peers into Ramstein area and weave a rich safety net for everyone seeking support. The data speak for my efforts: Since 2013 the number of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) working with the US Military families in Ramstein went from 1 to 6 and the number of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) supporting the English- and German-speaking communities went from 0 to 4. Currently there are 3 local independent Tricare-approved ABA providers, compared to 1 non-local ABA provider in 2013. ABA services are offered in English, German, Arabic, Korean, Tagalog, and Bulgarian languages. Five years ago, children accessed ABA services around 40 hours per month, now - approximately 800 hours per month.

The deeper the roots of my Tree grow, the more hidden resources I access. My vision of autism care expands with each year and now I am aiming to build a comprehensive therapeutic practice. Individuals with ASD have multi-spectrum needs (speech, sensory, motor, social and behavioral) and it is my intent to build a team that combines scientific approaches from the fields of Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy in a multidisciplinary synergetic treatment system. I hope that Teaching Tree’s new facility will finally host under the same roof gifted OTs, SLPs and BCBAs who will create the so much needed wrap-around service package.
