WellComm: A Speech and Language Toolkit for Screening and Intervention in the Early Years. Revised Edition Report Wizard: User’s Guide
1. Overview of the Report Wizard The Report Wizard allows WellComm scores to be calculated quickly and accurately, reducing the amount of errors known to be made when scoring by hand, and providing all the data needed to interpret the results of an assessment. The Report Wizard also instantly generates a variety of customised reports, which can allow users to include their own interpretations and comments. These reports currently include:
Individual Report
Group Report
Cluster Report Note: Examples of these reports can be accessed at www.gl‐assessment.co.uk/wellcomm‐toolkit
2. How to login To login to the Report Wizard secure website, go to http://rgt.testwise.net/wellcomm/. Save this page under ‘Favourites’ or ‘Bookmarks’ for easy access.
Enter your email address and password as supplied by GL Assessment and select ‘Login’. If you have been transferred from Testwise then your temporary password will be your customer ID number. Once you have logged in you will then be asked to change your password.
Confirm your current password, and then type in a new password. As you type, the ‘Password strength’ will indicate whether the password you have chosen is ‘Very weak’, ‘Weak’, ‘Better’, ‘Medium’, ‘Strong’ or ‘Strongest’. Only ‘Strong’ or ‘Strongest’ passwords will be accepted. Passwords must:
Be 8 or more characters long
Contain both lower and upper case letters

Not contain all or part of your name, address or any researchable term that could easily be guessed (such as a birthday, a partner’s name or a job function)
Avoid simple substitutions (such as 1 for i, 0 for O, 5 for s) and obvious combinations and sequences (such as 1234abcd, p4s5w0rd).
Retype your new password and select ‘Update’. You will then be taken to the ‘Welcome’ page, which contains the ‘Terms of Service’ for the Wellcomm Report Wizard. In order to use the service, you will need to agree to these terms and conditions. Please read them and then select ‘I agree’ at the bottom of the page if you wish to proceed. If you select ‘I disagree’, you will be logged out of the service. 3. How to navigate the Report Wizard Once you have entered the site, you will see the main menu with the following options:

Input test results
Add your own comments to customise reports
WellComm reports
Choose which reports to download, print and save

Update your email address, password, name, position and telephone number. The yellow sections are mandatory.
The logo of an organisation can be uploaded to the Report Wizard, so that it is included within every report generated by that organisation’s users. Only the main contact for the account can upload logos, via the ‘Edit your organisation’s details’ option in the ‘Modify your details’ section. Use the ‘Choose file’ button to locate and ‘Open’ the file, then select ‘Submit’ to save.
Note: Only JPEGs/GIFs/PNGs (recommended ratio 6 by 4) can be uploaded. To return to the main menu, simply click on the ‘Home’ icon in the top right hand corner. Note: You will be logged out of the Report Wizard after 30 minutes of inactivity. Please be aware of this time limit and regularly save any on‐going work.
4. How to create a new record For each child you assess, you will need to create a new record. Select ‘View WellComm children’. This takes you to a screen which shows a list of the children whom you have already assessed. It allows you to enter data for a new child.
Select ‘Create new child’. This takes you to a screen where you can create an individual child record.
Enter the child’s ‘Date of birth’ by using the calendar which appears when you click in this box. Use the double arrows (<<) to scroll through and select the appropriate year and use the single arrow (<) to scroll through and then select the appropriate month. Then select the exact day to confirm the date of birth. Alternatively, you can type in the date using dd/mm/yyyy format. Do not use full stops as these are not recognised by the software.
Enter the remaining information if needed (gender, English as an additional language, pupil premium, looked‐after children, ethnicity). A drop down list of common special educational needs will appear as you start typing in the SEN status box. Any additional information can be included in the other notes box. You can also upload child details using a CSV file. This will save time if you already have multiple child data on another system.
5. How to enter scores After creating a new record, you will automatically be prompted to enter more information regarding an assessment via the following page. Enter the date of assessment using the same method as above.
The Report Wizard will automatically select the relevant section dependent on the age of the child.
You will then need to score that section.
If a child achieves a red or an amber score, the system will automatically take you to the score sheet for the previous section. If the child then achieves a red or amber score again, you will be taken to the section before that. This will continue until the child achieves a green score, or until no green score has been achieved in any section.
Additional comments can also be added but they will not be included in the reports.
Once a child’s scores have been entered, you will be given the option to create an individual report straight away or to save the data for later use.
Each child will be added to your list in the ‘View WellComm Children’ section. You have the option to tick the ‘Hide green outcomes’ box. In the ‘Last outcome’ column each child’s most recent score is displayed. If a child achieved a red or amber score, the section that they managed to achieve a green score in will also be shown.
The icons in the Actions column are:
Edit a child’s details
Enter or edit a child’s previous results
View all of a child’s results
Add results from a new assessment
Create a new report for this child
Delete child
Archive child
You need to enter results for this child before you can create reports 6. How to generate an individual report In addition to generating an individual report as soon as you have entered a child’s scores, you can also create an individual report by selecting the ‘View WellComm Children’ link on the home
page and view the reports for specific children using the icon. You will then need to select the individual report options for each child.
Your completed individual reports will be listed in the ‘WellComm reports’ section. If a child has been assessed more than once then you will be able to see all of their previous scores as well.
7. How to generate a group report To create a group report, select the ‘Create a new group report’ icon and you will be taken to the following screen. You must select the results you wish to include. You can filter this data using a range of dates and the drop down lists provided.
You can then decide which time periods you would like the group reports to be based on using the date selection slider. Drag the date label left or right to select the time period(s) that you need. You can select one, two or three different time periods.
8. Cluster reports If you have chosen to use the WellComm Report Wizard with a cluster account, you will see the following welcome page.
If you follow the ‘Register of settings’ link, the organisations in your cluster will be listed.
To create a cluster report, go to the ‘WellComm cluster reports’ link and select the ‘Create a new group report’ icon. A cluster report is very similar to a group report but there is no child listing.
You must select the results you wish to include. You can filter this data using a range of dates and the drop down lists provided.
You can then decide which time periods you would like the group reports to be based on using the date selection slider. Drag the date label left or right to select the time period(s) that you need. You can select one, two or three different time periods.
9. How to search for a child’s record Over time you may enter information on a large number of children. To access previously created reports quickly and easily, go to your list of children’s reports and use the following search functions: Use the ‘Filter’ box to search by:
Gender (input ‘M’ or ‘F’)
Year of birth (input full year)
Month of birth (input the first three letters of the month i.e. ‘Jan’ for January)
Date of birth (using the format yyyy‐mm‐dd)
Click on the ‘arrow’ icons to sort each category (name, date of birth, gender, date of last assessment). Depending on the information to hand (i.e. date of last assessment, ID number), you should be able to locate each record. 10.
