Term 2 drop off
As of Term 2 (after the Autumn half term break), the children will line up by the Outdoor Learning Area gate at 8:45 when the whistle is blown.
Please encourage your child to line up without you and come straight in.
This routine will make things much easier in the long run we promise!
Every day your child will need…
• Labelled PE kits
• Labelled water bottle
• Labelled spare clothes (accidents do happen)
• Lunch box or lunch booked
• Snack (or have school fruit)
• Book bags (we aim to change books each day).
Home Learning
At this stage Reception children are not given any homework because READING EVERY DAY is so important, especially at this stage in your child’s life.
Please read/share/ enjoy a book (or a few pages even) every single day. It really helps!

Friday Celebration Assembly
Celebration assembly is each Friday morning from 9am. It usually lasts for half an hour. You are more than welcome to join us as and when you can.
The children will share as a class or small group each week. We ensure that all children are offered the opportunity to share throughout the year.
A star of the week is announced, again we ensure that all children are noticed for positive behaviour/learning throughout the year which we link to our school values.
Bertie Bug
We have a huge focus on reading in school. To encourage children to share our love of learning we have a class ‘reading bug’ called Bertie and a reading journal.
When it is your child’s turn to have Bertieplease write in the journal, focusing on the books that you have shared over the weekend.
Please don’t worry about how much to write etc. If you have a busy weekend just write in the books you share.
