• Education/Work Background:– BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from
WVU in the late 1980s.– Worked in nuclear and telecommunications
industry for 12 years.– Returned to school for teaching
certification from University of Pittsburgh– Began teaching at Norwin in 2010– Currently teach Geometry and E&M

• This class serves as an introduction to material that will covered during the 2nd semester physics course in freshmen year of college.
Class Format• Grading on points basis• Five-Step Problem Solving
Method required (like last year)

quarter• Labs and lab reports
Course Rigor• This is not an easy class.• This is a senior honors-level
course.• Your child made it through Physics
I. The rigor will be similar, but the difficulty with electricity is that we can’t see it. We all have experience with forces and motion from Physics I, but these concepts aren’t as intuitive.

use the students’ personal devices in the classroom.
