Tulsa welcomes internationally renowned children’s chorus

Excerpt from the Sermon Journal, Monday, July 31, 2017Written by Pastor Tom Harrison

It’s not “practice makes perfect,” but “perfect practice makes perfect.” Some practices aren’t

helpful and some are downright destructive. Jesus emphasized the value of practice. Sometimes

people are called “non-practicing Christians.” That’s a biblical oxymoron. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism,

believed in habitual action, not just being an occasional “Christmas and Easter” Christian. The “method” of Methodism is participating through small groups and giving an account of your soul. Three questions were asked: “Have you availed yourself of the means of grace? Have you done good deeds? Have you avoided harm?” Methodists have doctrine, but equally, we consistently practice what we profess.

Having a positive influence in challenging situations. Get the most from this

study of the book of Daniel with the sermon journal’s daily scripture readings and

weekly devotionals. Available $5 at Guest Services desks and the main office.
