SoulCollage® Mermaid ReadingAdapted from 365 Tarot Spreads by Sasha Graham

Example by Anne Marie Bennett

1. Draw 8 cards randomly.

2. Lay them face down in front of you from left to right like a little wave:

Card #1Mystery : What Mystery am I unraveling?[Passion- Council]

I am the one who is passionate, who breathes fire, who is born from fire. I represent all of your passions over the years. The mystery you are unraveling is the mystery of your passion for writing fiction. You have many times dismissed this passion as frivolous and unnecessary yet it is as powerful as all your other passions. How can you follow this passion and still allow it to be a mystery?

Card #2Allure : Which of my personal qualities is most alluring?[Seena- Community]

I am the one who is colorful and creative and childlike and wise all at once. Your most alluring quality is your creativity- your love of and use of color!

Card #3Privacy : What must be kept under wraps?[Solitude- Committee]

I am the one who is wrapped into myself in solitude. I am the one who loves to be alone. What must be hidden- for now- is the intense inner growth that is happening.

Too much exposure to light and others’ opinions right now would be just as damaging as neglecting it.

Card #4Sensuality : How should I indulge my sensuality?[Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop- Committee]

I am the one who is overstimulated with sugar. I am the one who is unhappy because sugar hurts my body. You can more easily indulge your sensuality by letting go of sugar again in a big way. Your body will have more energy for sensuality then.

** Note to self- the message from this card today is totally different than why I made it way back when! This card was never about overindulging in sugar but today that is

what I saw because that is what I needed to see.

Card #5Love : What do I love more than anything?[Unknown Card]

I am the one who is balanced and offering praise and gratitude for the light that is always all around me, the light that shows me the way. I am the one who is facing forward. What you love more than anything is your journey.

Card #6Untamed : What do I cling to that must run free in my life?[Joe - Community]

I am the one who is a teacher and a reader and a writer. I am the one who shares your passion for theatre and photography. I am the one who is your big brother, we are blood family. I am the one who loves you unconditionally and has since the day you were born. What you cling to is this notion that you are not beloved, not truly loved, not worthy. What must run free is your openness to love and being loved.

Card #7Tidal Waters : Where is the tide of my life bringing me?[Gaia/Mother Earth- Council]

I am the one who watches over the earth- plants, land, air, water, animals. I am the one who has compassion for all living things on earth. The tide of your life is moving you towards a more compassionate way of being – with yourself as well as with others.

Card #8Movement : Am I fighting the tide or moving with it?[Growing Old Gracefully- Council]

We are the ones who are comfortable in our skin. We are growing older and we embrace the aging process with grace and well-being. We say that the tide of your life is moving you into the aging process slowly (you are only 58,dear one!). We see that you are resisting it somewhat. See what you can do to move more gently with the tide of your life. Resistance of the tide leads to unhappiness.

FINAL STEPS (OPTIONAL)

1. Read slowly over everything you have written. Read it out loud if you are somewhere where you won’t be disturbed. Circle any phrases or sentences of wisdom that you want to carry forward into your life. These can be words of encouragement OR words of challenge. As you are reading, listen for anything that you want to explore further. There might NOT be something from each and every card that you need to hang onto.

2. Write these words of wisdom on a separate sheet of paper and use them as springboards for your own journaling this week. Allow questions to bubble forth from this wisdom you received. Allow a few action steps to make themselves known.

3. Post these words of wisdom somewhere where you will see them often.

4. Bask in the glow of your own wisdom!

5. Here are my words of wisdom that I’d like to journal with this week:It’s okay to keep under wraps my current intense inner growth process.I give myself the gift of sensuality when I stop indulging in sugar.I love my journey!I need to believe that I am beloved and cherished… I need this energy to run free in my life.Am I resisting the process of growing older and if so, how can I move with it gracefully?
