IMPORTANCE OF WATER
Water is vital for all known forms of life Plants need water to make their food by
the process of photosynthesis. It is required for cooking, washing,
gardening and several other purposes. It carries our food and waste in and out of
our cells. It keeps our temperature at the right level. It is necessary for everything the body
does.
WATER is very important to the earth and the life inhabiting it, including us.
WAYS TO CONSERVE WATERWater your lawn and garden in the morning or evening when
temperatures are cooler to minimize evaporation.Wash your fruits and vegetables in a pan of water instead of running water from the tap.Collect the water you use for rinsing fruits and vegetables, then reuse it to water houseplants.Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.Verify that your home is leak-free, because many homes have hidden water leaksWashing dark clothes in cold water saves both on water and energy while it helps your clothes to keep their colors.Share water conservation tips with friends and neighbors.Water only when necessary. More plants die from over-watering than from under-watering.When you save water, you save money on your utility bills too. Saving water is easy for everyone to do.And last but not the least.. the need of Today’s world – RAIN WATER HARVESTING
WHAT IS RAIN WATER HARVESTING??
RAIN WATER HARVESTING is simply collecting, storing and purifying the naturally soft and pure rainfall that falls on your roof.
RAIN WATER may be utilized for both potable and non-potable requirements such as ---
1. drinking, cooking, bathing (potable quality)2.Swimming pool replenishment3.Toilet flushing4.Laundary5.Livestock and animals
OBJECTIVES OF RAIN WATER HARVESTING Promote Rain Water Harvesting by creating awareness among people. Increasing the availability of ground water during periods of requirement. Preventing depletion of ground water reservoirs in areas of over exploitation Decreasing menace of floods on local and regional scale.Enhancing the quality of environment.
CONCLUSION
Our mission should be-----1. Conservation of water2. Since we can not produce energy but we can
save it by preventing wastage3. In the same way we can not produce water but
save it and protect our future
So, think before you waste a single drop of water …. Because
When the well is dry, we know the worth of WATER.
