VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD 2019 PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY AND VDID INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DAYThe VDID Industrial Design Day 2019 at interzum is focused on the theme of industrial design as a driver and reflection of technological, economic and socio-cultural trends. In the six decades since the German Association of Industrial Designers (VDID) was founded, the profession has changed dramatically. For instance, industrial design work is increasingly driven by digital interfaces and process management. The transformation of the profession has also been apparent for many years in the submissions to the VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD. Purely digital solutions to problems and conceptual competition entries are on the rise and are an indication of the skills of up-and-coming industrial designers in terms of user experiences and strategy development.

The VDID NEWCOMERS’ AWARD recognises young talent for the industrial design of the future and gives budding industrial designers a platform and supports them in making a successful start to their careers. The selected projects and objects will be presented at the VDID stand in Hall 4.2, stand B 73.
