They have appointed one full time assistant for the centre and also one senior citizen comes to the centre daily as a volunteer.

Physiotherapy Centre, Subhash Nagar

Subhash Nagar is the 2nd centre at Dehradun to start. It is in association with Arya Samaj and is located at Arya Samaj Mandir, Subhash Nagar. Full unit started functioning w.e.f. November 2009. Initially average number of treat-ments were 25 per day whereas, currently it has come down to nearly 15 only because of regular 3 hours (2PM to 5 PM) power cut in Dehradun district. In the same premise, Arya Samaj also run free allopathic dispensary, which supports our patient in getting the medicines free of cost. Centre would be handed over to Arya Samaj in the month of March 2010. They would be running it independ-ently by appointing their own staff.

Given below is one case study which was tackled after getting the call on Dehradun help line: Mr. Abdul Khalid s/o Khuda Baksh is aged 72 years lying on the road side beside the sewer line in 2nd lane of Nishatganj, Lucknow. It was found that he was a truck driver and after the death of his wife (expired in 1990) sold his house and went to Kolkata. He has three sons and one daughter. They all are married and living separately. His first son, Aslam is a private driver of an officer, 2nd son Ak-ram is a labourer in a fabricator shop and 3rd son Sikandar is also a driver. He was striving for his two times meal and living in a very pathetic and unhygienic condition. His legs are very week and he is unable to stand on his feet. He does all his routine work through crawling. After getting information on help line, MMU, Lucknow Executive visited and interacted and persuaded with his family members for his rehabilitation. As a result, on 29-11-09, the youngest son came and took him to his house.
