RAND Graduate Student Summer Associate ProgramJanuary 5, 2017Program designed to introduce students to RAND, an institution that conducts research on a wide range of national security problems and domestic and international social policy issues. Designed for full-time students who have completed at least two years of graduate work leading to a doctorate or professional degree (e.g., law, medicine, engineering) to work with Rand in Santa Monica, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, or Boston.

Kobe College Corporation/Japan Education Exchange - Graduate Fellowship ProgramJanuary 9, 2017The KCC Japan Education Exchange Graduate Fellowships Program was established in 1996 to support qualified graduate students for research or study in Japan. The purpose of the fellowship is to support future American educators who will teach more effectively about Japan.

American School of Classical Studies at Athens Fellowships and GrantsJanuary 15, 2017; February 15, 2017; March 15, 2017One-year and short-term fellowships to travel to and study at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens

Chateaubriand FellowshipJanuary 27, 2017Grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States allowing doctoral students enrolled in American universities to conduct research in France for 4 to 9 months. Fellowships are available in two areas: STEM, Humanities & Social Sciences.

Boren FellowshipJanuary 31, 2017Boren Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded. Boren Fellows represent a vital pool of highly motivated individuals who wish to work in the federal national security arena. In exchange for funding, Boren Fellows commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation.

TravelVillers Fellowship for Health Care JusticeJanuary 2017 (anticipated)Year-long fellowship as a policy analyst for Families USA in Washington D.C. Commitment to social health care justice advocacy is expected.

Andrew W. Mellon Mediterranean Regional Research FellowshipJanuary 30, 2017The Council of American Overseas Research Centers is pleased to offer a focused regional fellowship program enabling pre- and early postdoctoral scholars to carry out research in the humanities and related social sciences in countries bordering the Mediterranean and served by American overseas research centers. These fellowships foster international scholarship, education, and cultural dialogue.

The Multi-Country Research FellowshipJanuary 30, 2017This Council of American Overseas Research Centers fellowship program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Scholars must carry out research for a minimum of 90 days in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center.

The program seeks to increase the number of women and minority professionals in educational measurement and related fields.

47th St. Gallen Symposium February 1, 2017Essay competition to participate in the 47th St. Gallen Symposium in Switzerland. The top 100 qualify as Leaders of Tomorrow and are invited to participate in the world’s premier opportunity for intergenerational debates.

Center for Jewish History Graduate Research FellowshipFebruary 2, 2017 Residential ten-month fellowships for doctoral candidates to support original research using the collections of the Center’s partners: American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO, Institute for Jewish Research. Preference is given to those candidates who draw on the library and archival resources of more than one partner institution.

National Museum of the American Indian Internship ProgramFebruary 6, 2017Internships are provided for students interested in the museum profession and related fields. Locations are in Maryland, Washington D.C. or New York for a duration of 10 weeks.

University Research Association Visiting Scholars ProgramFebruary 27, 2017Funding for visits to work at Fermilab as a visiting scholar for up to one year. Visits can range from attendance at Fermilab conferences and summer schools to year-long stays at the Lab.

Sigma Delta Pi Graduate Research GrantMarch 1, 2017Research grants for active members of Sigma Delta Pi to travel to Spain and Spanish America for research related to Hispanic Studies.

NASW Foundation Social Work HEALS Policy FellowshipMarch 1, 2017 (anticipated)One-year fellowship through the National Association of Social Workers to social workers who have completed at least two years of a doctoral program. Fellows will participate in a social work specific opportunity to use their social work knowledge and research experience to work in Washington, D.C. on critical health policy issues facing our nation.

Dissertation Fellowships in Early American Economy & SocietyMarch 1, 2017One dissertation research fellowship and four one-month fellowships for research of the American economy and society, from its colonial beginnings to the 1850s. Possible topics include global trade, internal development, politics, the relationship between race/gender and economic forces, and capitalism. Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation Research Travel Grants March 15, 2017Grants up to $2,200 in support of research in the holdings of the Gerald R. Ford Library in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The grant may be used to defray travel costs and living expenses.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Student Travel AwardsDeadline: Seven months before the first day of the conference for which support is requested.Travel awards to help students attend and present at SIAM conferences.

The Center for Jewish History Steinberg Fund for Emerging Jewish FilmmakersDeadline: RollingFunding for projects whose subject matter is in line with the collections housed at the Center for Jewish History and who plan to do research at the Center’s archives in New York. The goal of this fellowship is to provide small stipends to emerging filmmakers working on topics related to modern Jewish history and is not limited to film students.

American Medical Association Seed Grant Research ProgramJanuary 6, 2017Grants to support medical students, physician residents, & fellows in conducting small research projects. In 2017, the AMA Foundation will be awarding grants up to $2,500 in the areas of cardiovascular pulmonary diseases, HIV/AIDS, and pancreatic cancer and up to $5,000 in the area of neoplastic diseases for small research projects.

American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences National Graduate Fellowship January 9, 2017Graduate fellowships for individuals who have exhibited the potential to make contributions to the family and consumer sciences profession.
