Caucus for Women in Statistics Travel AwardJune 1, 2018 (anticipated)The Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS) travel awards partially support attending a professional meeting, such as the Joint Statistical Meeting (JSM). We anticipate at least two awards in the amount of $500 each. The selection will be based on both merits and financial need.

Society for the History of Technology Travel GrantJune 15, 2018Designed to defray some costs associated with attending the SHOT conference the grant is open to individuals giving a paper at the annual meeting. The reviewing committee prioritizes scholars whose presentations address women, gender, race, ethnicity, and/or difference in the history of technology. Women, minorities, international scholars, and those who are new to SHOT, are particularly encouraged to apply.

Research Grant Supports members’ research and/or presentation of research at conferences.

Joan Nelson Study Abroad Scholarship Assists members who are going to participate in a study abroad program.

National Museum of the American Indian Internship ProgramJuly 12, 2018Internships are provided for students interested in the museum profession and related fields. Locations are in Maryland, Washington D.C. or New York for a duration of 10 weeks.

Smithsonian Institution—STRI Short-Term Fellowship ProgramJuly 15, 2018Provides support for graduate students and introduces them to tropical research. These fellowships enable selected candidates to work in the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and explore research possibilities at STRI.

American Society for Theater ResearchJuly 16, 2018

Thomas Marshall Graduate Student Award Designed to encourage students to become active members of ASTR by helping them meet the expenses of attending the ASTR annual meeting.

Helen Krich Chinoy Dissertation Fellowship The total award amount of $3000 is typically divided into three equal awards. It is intended to assist Ph.D. candidates with the expenses of travel to national and international collections to conduct research projects connected with their dissertations.

Americans for the Arts—Internship Opportunities July 17, 2018 (anticipated)The Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to investigate and participate in the operations of the nation’s leading nonprofit for advancing the arts in America. Neotropical Grassland Conservancy (NGC) Student Grant ProgramAugust 1, 2018The foundation’s mission is promoting the conservation of savannas, gallery forests, wetlands, and associated ecosystems in Central and South America. NEWH Sunshine Chapter Scholarship July 15, 2018 (anticipated) Scholarship for students pursuing careers affiliated in the hospitality industry.

Hospitality Industry Network ICON of Industry Scholarship July 15, 2018 (anticipated) A $7,500 annual scholarship is awarded to an exemplary student. The scholarship recipient’s travel and lodging to the award gala is paid by NEWH, Inc.

Kushlan Research Award The goal of the Kushlan Research Award in Ciconiiform Biology and Conservation is to encourage significant scientific advances in the biology, ecology, or conservation biology of wading birds (i.e. herons, storks, ibises, and their taxonomic allies).

Nisbet Research Award This grant is open globally to any student, professional, or amateur and should focus on those interested in research and conservation on terns and gulls.

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Conserve Wildlife Matching GrantAugust 1, 2018 (anticipated)With funding from the Conserve Wildlife License Plate renewal fund, the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Endangered and Nongame Species Program (ENSP) offers small matching grants for one-year projects that advance nongame wildlife conservation and education. Approved projects are funded on a reimbursement basis and must be located in New Jersey. Grants are awarded every other year.

The Noah Greenberg AwardAugust 15, 2018The award is intended as a grant-in-aid to stimulate active cooperation between scholars and performers by recognizing and fostering outstanding contributions to historical performing practices.
