They were from the north of Europe.
They invaded Visigoth Spain in 711AD.They practised a new religion called Islam.
The Reconquista of Spain began in 1100.In 1492 they conquered Granada
They controlled Spain for more than two hundred years.They started in 503AD
They called the territory Al- Andalus.It was divided into small independent kingdoms called Taifas.
There were four kingdoms:oAragónoCastillaoNavarra oPortugal.
Their capital was Toledo Their capital was Córdoba.Their last city was Granada
The society consisted of a king, nobles and peasants.
They controlled Spain for more than seven hundred years.

The unification of Spain.When King Fernando II of Aragón and Queen Isabel I of castilla married in
1469, they united their two kingdoms and made one large and powerful
Christian kingdom.

Beautiful buildings: Alhambra in Granada and mezquita in Córdoba.
Improvements in medicine, astronomy and mathematics.

FEUDALISM
FEUDALISMFeudalism was the name for the social organisation during the Middle
Ages.
•The King ruled the country.
•A noble was loyal to the king.
•A knight fought in the noble´s army.
• The clergy lived in monasteries and convents. The peasants
paid them. They prayed, studied and copied the ancients books
by hands.
• The peasants worked on the land. Most of them were serfs,
they weren´t free people.
