When the teacher came, she

FIRE DRILL!
Wednesday 22 October 2014, In
the morning of the day, Ms Megha-
na reminded us what to do in case
of fire. We all were listening to her,
shortly after she finished her
speech. he fire alarm bell rang, tell-
ing us to go out for a practice.
We didn't know about this alarm,
we were told that it was likely to
start after break but for some rea-
son it started in the core value peri-
od. Then we spent around 15
minutes outside, on the field to
practice this situation which can oc-
cur at any point of time.

On 18th of October 2014, an eco-
conference was conducted by the
Green Hope Foundation. The or-
ganization also supports the “He
for She” campaign. The confer-
ence started at 8am and ended
around 2pm. A few students from
different schools were chosen to
attend this event including TWS.
These students were divided in
groups named by the causes and
effects of the environment like
landfill, global warming and etc.
There were activities, discussions
and a lot of speakers and guest
speakers. The first activity held
was tree planting in the park and
I found it a difficult task, but I
had a really good time doing it.
After getting back to school, the
guest speakers started telling us
about the environment and that
we should be aware of it. The
speakers really created an aware-
ness among each student and
teacher who was there. We had
our break for a few minutes, then
back to the topic.
The next activity held was ques-
tion and answer. This part of the

conference was really tricky, but
fun. Third activity was poster
making using a shirt instead of a
canvas. I found this activity really
challenging. The last activity
was to discuss the problems
in the environment and fig-
uring out a solution for that
problem. Prizes were given
to the winners of each activi-
ty.
It was a great experience be-
ing there and I hope this
campaign never fails to
achieve its goal. By the end of
the day, all students who par-
ticipated in the conference
received certificates of par-
ticipation.
