Last year, I started a small detective business in my town. When a crime
occurs people come to me to try to solve it. I have yet to have a case gounsolved. Today, around 4:30 p.m., my riend Jahlani Philips came to me. He
said that his mother had been on her way to her riends house last night or
dinner when she noticed that the neckless she intended to wear was missing.
I immediately ollowed him to his house to interview the viktim. Once
there I asked her i she had any pictures o the stolen goods. She handed us
a snapposht o the diamond jewelry. I then asked Jahlanis mother to recall
her activities rom yesterday. She explained that she had been wearing
the jewelry all day, but took it o in the aternoon while she was making
a pumcken pie or the dinner party. When she went to put it back on, she
realized it had been stolen.
Where did you take o your jewelry? I asked.
Why in my bedroom, o course, and I placed it back into my jewelry box
just like I always do. When I returned to get it or the party, it was gone.
Do you mind i I have a look around? I asked, heading or the kitchen.
Not at all, she replied.
First, I checked the rerigerator, which did not contain the stolen goods.
But upon opening the door to the pantree, I uncovered the missing property.
Jahlanis mother was so happy with my discovery, she gave me a hug.
