A vibrant and more “off the wall” choice of destination, Morocco has recently rocketed inpopularity because of its close proximity to the UK by direct flight, combined with its air ofmysticism and the emergence of new fabulously stylish hotels. With the straits of Gibraltaras a border, it is characterised by some breathtaking landscapes from the snow-cappedAtlas Mountains to the searing sands of the Sahara Desert.

Morocco

Lively Marrakech is utterly captivating and rises from the middle ofthe desert like an oasis. Visiting the walls of the old city, it feels likeyou are stepping back in time to ancient Arabia. The combinationof heat, colour, noise and swirling scents, such as orange blossomand spices, make a trip to this city an intoxicating experience notto be missed.

If you like shopping, spend a day in the souks where you can buyall manner of trinkets, furniture and jewellery - but be prepared tohaggle! However, if you want to enjoy some peace and quiet youwill find many of the world-class hotels here are a sanctuary ofcalm with walled gardens and tinkling fountains, where you canenjoy a refreshment of mint tea and local pastries. We recommendthat you also spend a few days in the Atlas Mountains, which areextremely beautiful and are home to some exclusive retreats.

Flight Time: Approximately 4 hours to Marrakech Airport (direct from London& Manchester).

Weather: Marrakech has a hot, dry climate and is a year-round destination. The besttimes to visit are from October to May. Although the centre of Marrakech is extremelyhot in the summer months, the Atlas Mountains enjoy a cooling breeze.
