*Spreading the Message of Our Lady of Fatima ~ Promoting Devotion to Her Immaculate Heart*
Spring Newsletter
President's Report
We are beginning a new year, 2017, for spreading the message of Fatima in this 100th Anniversary year of the
Apparitions of Fatima. The World Apostolate of Fatima, (WAF) members are working to honor Our Lady with many
events. The month of January started with First Saturday Devotional Rosary prayers, the Walk for Life, at Christ the
King Church in Manchester, NH, on January 14, 2017. Many Prayer Cells and families are taking home the Pilgrim
Virgin Statue Kits traveling through the 9 Deaneries of Manchester, NH for a week or more at a time.
March 4, was the Board of Trustees meeting at St. Michael Parish in Exeter to prepare for the Annual
Diocesan Council Meeting on May 6, 2017, where all WAF Parish Representatives invite their Parish Pastors to this
important yearly meeting to vote for positions on the WAF Board of Trustees; which are a three year term. Packets
were taken to the pastors from the representatives for them to be filled out and signed and mailed back by April 8,
2017, to the Credential Committee to be reviewed and be presented at the ADC meeting on May 6, 2017.
The Annual Diocesan Council Meeting will start at 10:00 am. sharp; after the 8:00 am. Mass and then the First
Saturday Devotion Rosary. Then we will go over to the St. Michael Parish, Gabriel House in meeting room #1 for the
ADC meeting where we will then vote on any open BOT member positions, the Officers of the Board, which are the
President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary; and then Committee members. There will be refreshment and
fellowship to follow. We will clean up and close the meeting by 2:30 pm. All are welcome to attend the ADC Meeting,
but only Credentialed Parish Representatives can vote.
The WAF members are looking forward to July 2017, to visit the Churches who have invited the National
Pilgrim Statue of the USA. Bishop Peter Libasci has given permission for “The National Pilgrim Virgin Tour of the
USA” to visit the Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire for the month of July 7, to 27, 2017 for the Centennial year
of the Apparitions of Fatima, Portugal. The Statue Custodian, Bill Sockey will bring this statue to set up an hour before
an event begins in each Church and he will explain how the Message of Fatima applies to our country today and
discuss what we can do to earn the blessings on our country that Our Lady promised if her requests were fulfilled.
Many will come to honor Our Lady of Fatima and to hear her important message for stopping the moral decline of our
American culture and securing God’s blessing on our Country and the whole world. “Seeing the Pilgrim Virgin is
almost like making a pilgrimage to Fatima…”
All Parish Pastors in the Manchester Diocese interested in having Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrim Virgin
Statue of the USA visit their church are welcome to call me to book a date from July 7, through the 27th 2017
and I will work with them to make this a great event; contact President, Carolyn Scanlon,
Email: [email protected] or call 603-772-0906.
Respectively submitted,

Apparitions of the Angel
FIRST APPARITION
In the spring of 1916, three shepherd children, Lucia
Dos Santos, aged ten, Jacinta Marto, aged seven, and her
brother Francisco Marto, aged nine, saw an Angel while they
were tending their family’s flock of sheep near their home, at
a place called “Loca do Cabeço”.
After having lunch and saying their prayers, the three
little children saw a light above the trees that stretched away
towards the east, whiter than snow, in the form of a young
man, transparent, and brighter than crystal pierced by the rays
of the sun. The Angel identified himself as the Angel of Peace
and told the children to pray to Jesus and Mary, in saying the
following words: “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I
love you! I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not
adore, do not hope and do not love You!”
SECOND APPARITION
The second apparition of the Angel took place at the
height of summer. The three little Shepherds spend the siesta
hours in the shade of the trees when, suddenly, the same Angel
appeared again with the message that prayer and sacrifice
would bring peace to their country:
“Pray! Pray very much! The Hearts of Jesus and Mary
have designs of mercy on you. Offer prayers and sacrifices
constantly to the Most High. Make of everything you can a
sacrifice, and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins
by which He is offended, and in supplication for the
conversion of sinners. You will thus draw down peace upon
your country. I am its Angel Guardian, the Angel of Portugal.
Above all, accept and bear with submission, the
suffering which the Lord will send you”. These words
impressed deeply the three children. They were like a light
which made them understand who God is, His love, the value
of sacrifice and the grace of conversion to sinners.
From then on, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco began to offer to
the Lord all that mortified them.
THIRD APPARITION
The third apparition of the Angel must have been in
October or in the end of September. The three little Shepherds
were praying the Rosary when the Angel appeared, holding a
chalice in his hands, with a Host above it from which some
drops of Blood were falling into the sacred vessel. Leaving the
Chalice and the Host suspended in the air, the Angel
prostrated himself on the ground and repeated three times the
following prayer: “Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy
Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most
precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ,
present in all tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the
outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is
offended. And, through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred
Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the
conversion of poor sinners”.
Then, rising, he once more took the chalice and the
Host in his hands. He gave the Host to Lucia, and to Jacinta
and Francisco he gave the Contents of the chalice to drink,
saying as he did so: “Take and drink the Body and Blood of
Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Repair their
crimes and console your God”. Once again, he prostrated
himself on the ground and repeated with the little Shepherds
three times more the same prayer “Most Holy Trinity…”.
Then he disappeared.
Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima
MAY 13, 1917
The three children were tending their sheep in a place
called “Cova da Iria” when a flash of lightning drew their
attention to a Lady standing on the top of a small Holm oak
tree. She was all dressed in white and more brilliant than a
crystal glass filled with sparkling water, when the rays of the
burning sun shine through it.
The Lady told them that she was from heaven and that
she would appear there on six successive months, on the 13th
day of each month at the same hour. Lucia asked our Lady if
they would go to heaven and the Lady replied that all three of
them would go to heaven, but that Francisco had to say many
Rosaries.
Then, Our Lady asked the children: “Are you willing
to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills
to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is
offended, and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?”
When the three little Shepherds respond that they were willing
to follow her request, she said: “Then you are going to have
much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort”.
The Lady’s message for the children on that day was
to pray the rosary every day during the war. Then she began to
rise serenely, going towards the east, until she disappeared in
the immensity of space.
The Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima will be
continued in the Summer and Fall WAF-NH Division

Home Enthronement is a means through which families can
obtain guidance, protection and consolation as they grow in holiness
from their proper and ultimate source, the Sacred and Immaculate
Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
The Vital Importance of Home Enthronement Today That which God desires is always and everywhere
imperative and for our benefit. As persecution of the Church rapidly
increases, its intensity and the breadth of its consequences are
broadening. The Church is being characterized by its enemies as a
menace to modern society – something which needs to be eliminated
if mankind is to progress. One Presidential candidate has openly
declared that “religious beliefs have to be changed.” Will our
churches one day be closed by the state? It’s happened more than
once before and it can happen again. While we will, of course, do
everything we can to prevent it, prudence would seem to dictate that
we ought to prepare ourselves for whatever lies ahead.
We are all aware of the plethora of vicious and multifaceted
attacks on the family today. We must make no mistake about their
source, the evil one. And while his attacks are direct in some cases,
they are most often carried out by those he has convinced that
government is better suited for the rearing of children than moms
and dads in families, and that the abolition of the monogamous
family and even the elimination of any distinction between the sexes
are noble and necessary objectives.
Why is Home Enthronement a program of the apostolate?
How is it related to Fatima? After showing the children the vision of hell during the July
13, 1917 apparition Our Lady said to the children: “You have seen
hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to
establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.”
Lucia Speaks, page 16, paragraph 4
When Sister Lucia asked Our Lord why He would not
convert Russia without the Holy Father making the Collegial
Consecration, He told her that it was because He wanted his whole
Church to acknowledge that consecration as a triumph of the
Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that devotion to her Immaculate Heart
would spread throughout the world and eventually be placed
alongside the devotion to His Sacred Heart. Lucia Speaks, page 34,
paragraph 4
When The Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and
Mary reign as King and Queen of our families and the homes in
which they reside we are contributing to the fulfillment of this ardent
desire which Jesus revealed to Sister Lucia.
