Cooperative ProgramThe Heart of Southern Baptist Missions and Ministries
Your contribution to the Cooperative Program allows thousands of people in Ohio to receive blessings from the One True Living God. Ohio Baptist Centers, Church and Community Ministries, Collegiate Ministries on Ohio Campuses, and church starters and many decisions for Christ in Vacation Bible School, all these and more are possible because you and your church have decided to participate in the Cooperative Program. The effects and lives touched by God through your contributions to the Cooperative Program would not be possible without you. Thank you!

What are Bible Drills you ask? Bible Drill is a program that gets children and youth actively involved in learning the Word of god. Participants learn how to look up verses and books of the Bible in an efficient manner. They also learn to memorize scripture. Participants learn to compete in a god honoring way while they learn to hide god’s Word in their hearts. Practice for the Bible Drill season customarily begins in the Fall to get ready for a church, Associational and State Drill.
Divisions of Bible Drills: childrens: 4th-6th grade / Youth: 7th-9th grade / high School: 10th-12th grade purpose: To memorize the Word of god, the chance to compete at the State level, The opportunity to go to the national competition.

Sponsoringchurch Initiative
What’s it take to be a sponsoring church?
A desire to share the Word of God:“I came to understand, it’s not how many people who hear my voice on Sunday, it’s how many people hear His voice” ~ sponsoring church pastor
A willingness to invest in the life and family of a church planter:“I need someone I can call; it gets lonely planting a church. I want someone to bounce ideas off, a sounding board, someone willing to share with me their experience.” ~ Church planter
“It is so special when the sponsoring church pastor’s wife comes occasionally and takes my wife to lunch. Three or four times a year our sponsoring church provides childcare and money for a date night.” ~ Church planter
A kingdom spirit to give sacrificially people, resources, and energy for those who have not yet come.“Our church is looking more and more like the New Testament norm, there is a sense of excitement and joy. We are working together for the gospel. Birthing something new is contagious.” ~ sponsoring Church member
Will you pray about becoming a sponsoring church?
Sponsoring church Initiative – 25% of Mission Ohio Churches significantly involved in church planting by 2020.(Currently 8% of SCBO churches are involved in church planting… 4% SBC nationally)

on September 18, 2012.
LocAtIoN: SCBO Offices – 9000 Antares Avenue, Columbus
tIMe: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Lunch will be provided)
If you are a church planter, we want you here!
Attention church plAnters!!!
MAY 3rd & 4th, 2012COLUMBUS, OHIO (Exact location will be forthcoming)
This will be the third year for the Forum. Comments and appraisals from last year’s Forum were tremendous. Again, the purpose will be for all church planters and wives within the first four years of the plant to gather and learn from each other.
The environment creates an atmosphere of sharing, camaraderie, praise, and fellowship. Planters from large cities, rural areas, the burbs, and various ethnic groups are represented. Last year over 40 planters, 24 wives, and other leaders gathered. The total attendance was over 80!
The structure will once again be one where the planters learn from each other in break-outs, sharing testimonies, and worship. As always, the lodging and meals will be paid for by the Cooperative Program funds. Come and learn from those who know exactly what you are experiencing… other planters.
For more information or to register, contact Charlotte Barbo at [email protected] or 614-827-1804.

Tax Seminars
The Church Services Resource Group provides business support to those who lead our state, associational and local ministries. This support encompasses budgets and finances, insurances, ministry vehicles, conference logistics, printing, and office facilities. By handling these details of life and ministry, others are freed to pursue the Great Commission unobstructed.
In addition, Church Services receives and disburses Cooperative Program mission funds, maintains your camp grounds at Seneca Lake, assists pastors and staff with tax seminars, and aids churches with 501c3 status.

Collegiate retreats
Each year Ohio CollegiateMinistries (OCM) sponsors collegiate retreats across our state. These extended worship anddiscipleship gatherings provide students with opportunities to connect with God more deeply and to connect more fully to Christian community. OCM retreats are open to all college attending or college-age students, regardless of involvement in local campus ministries.

Soularium is a picture-based, evangelism engagement tool that is fun, easy, and contagious. Drawing upon 5 simple questions and 50 images, Soularium gives Christians the ability to non-confrontationally engage non-believers in spiritual conversation that draws the believer and non-believer closer to Christ.
Training & Application - Within one hour, OCM collegiate teams can train you and your church to use Soularium meaningfully and effectively. With another hour, OCM collegiate teams can take your people out on the fly to engage your community with the gospel.
References – Are you still a bit skeptical? We’ll give you a list of references from around the country who have been in your shoes and who now fully endorse Soularium. If you’re still not convinced, we’ll connect you with folks who have come to Christ through Soularium.
Bring It On – If you’ve seen enough and you’d like to have an OCM team to facilitate a Soularium train-ing, check out www.ohiocollegiate.com or contact Brian Frye ([email protected]) directly. You’ll be glad you did!
