We will provide an excellent platform for participants to understand more about the latest development in electrical engineering, exchange views and experience, as well as brain storming. We would also launch three special tutorials for young engineers which would be beneficial for them on the future career development.
We cordially invite you to participate in the ICEE Conference 2019 . It has been our greatest hope that this Conference will serve as an open platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise. We hope that the Conference will be an inspiring and fruitful experience for all the participants.
We look forward to personally welcoming you, and please take the time to enjoy our conference programme as well as our city.
Ir Prof C C ChanICEE Conference 2019 Chairman
On behalf of the Conference Committee, we are delighted to invite you to attend the International Council on Electrical Engineering (ICEE) Conference 2019 to be held from 2 to 6 July 2019. The ICEE Conference 2019 is an annual forum for electrical engineers and students from all over the world. The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers is honoured to host the ICEE Conference 2019 in Hong Kong.
The theme of the ICEE Conference 2019 is “Towards Intelligent Electrical Engineering”, aiming to inspire awareness of emerging intelligent electrical engineering. The Conference will consist technical sessions, poster sessions and technical visits. Prominent specialists from all around the world will be invited to share their experiences and new ideas through presentations and discussions on emerging issues. It is expected that more than 200 papers in 10 major topics of electrical engineering field will be presented in the Conference.
The International Council on Electrical Engineering (The ICEE) Conference 2019 aims to be a premium forum for sharing information, creative ideas, expert knowledge and experience among electrical engineers of the world. Since 1995, ICEE has been successfully held once a year. The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) is pleased to announce the ICEE Conference 2019 will be held from 2 to 6 July 2019 in Hong Kong. The theme of 2019 Conference is “Towards Intelligent Electrical Engineering”, reshaping a better electrical engineering. It is a great pleasure for the HKIE, together with co-organisers, The Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering (CSEE), The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) and The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE), to have presentation covering the following areas:

It comprises Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories, which included 262 outlying islands. Despite its dense urban development, about three quarters of Hong Kong’s total area is countryside. Cantonese is the Chinese dialect spoken by most of the people in Hong Kong. English is widely used in the Government and by the legal, professional and business sectors as well as tourist areas. Mandarin, more commonly known as Putonghua – the official dialect of China, is becoming increasingly widespread.
Entry VisaFor most nationalities, visitors not intending to work require only a valid passport for short visits and no tourist visa is required. Please check the details about visa requirements on Immigration Department website: http://www.immd.gov.hk.

Keynote Speaker: Nobel Laureate : Professor Sir J. Fraser STODDART
We can imagine that the components of the smallest machines could be molecules. For a machine to function, its parts must
be able to move relative to each other. Fraser Stoddart has contributed to the development of molecular machines, for
example by developing a "rotaxane" in 1991. A ring-shaped molecule was threaded over another molecule that functions
like an axle. In the future, molecular machines could be used for new materials, sensors, and energy storage systems.
The Culture Night Peformance will be given by the following teams: EMSD Staff Club’s Chinese Music Team; Ir Dr The Hon WK

Presentation and Paper/Report Writing Skills Workshop
The workshop covers two sessions: The first session is on Oral Presentation Skills while the second session is on Technical
Paper/Report Writing Skills. In engineering profession, effective presentation and writing skills are a “must” for engineers to
express ideas clearly. The purpose of this workshop is to enable the participants to speak in a more confident manner and
to write in a more systematic way. The workshop will be jointly conducted by Mr Talis WONG and Ir Dr FC CHAN.
