How is everybody doing these days? If you have anything you want to ask of me or tell me you can send me an email at [email protected]. Or call 315-510-3393. Just to let you know Myself and the Vestry are here for you. Now for the news about St. Paul’s, we are looking into getting a new furnace in the Parish Hall. The old one is way past it’s prime and things are starting to go wrong with it. So, the Vestry and I have decided along with our finance adviser, Don Lee that we will be installing a new one as soon as possible to deal with this situa-tion. Church has been going well, people have been coming back and although it is different it’s still church and our congregation has been wonderful with the new restrictions. A mask is a must and your temperature is taken at the door and at the end of every ser-vice we go about sanitizing the church and parish hall for a new day. Along with this letter to everyone, a reminder, “ it is that time of year again” when we go about filling out our pledges for the new year. This should be done as soon as possible so that we can plan for the new year and get our budget set. If you have done so al-ready, thank you so much and if you have not done so, please con-sider doing so in the near future. We need everyone’s help to keep the church going so that when this is all over, we can resume with our services as usual. For those who cannot come to church because of health reasons, there is always Zoom. This has been going fairly well all things considered. So if you cannot join us in church, please join us by Zoom. We will have the Christmas church service this year on Christmas Eve at 5:00 PM, at that time we will be celebrating the Holy Eu-charist. with no service on Christmas Day. We will also have Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.

About St. Paul’s The earliest record of Episcopal Church services in this vicinity was 1816 when St. Stephen's Church of Perryville was incorpo-rated. At that time Chittenango was little more than a gathering of frame and log houses. From 1816-1832 rectors from St. Stephen's held missionary services in Chittenango. Around 1849 a few gentlemen who greatly admired and revered the beautiful services of the Church, agreed to make an effort to have services occasionally held. By the spring of 1855 services be-gan to be held regularly once a month in the Bethel. St. Paul's was officially organized as a parish on June 18, 1855. St. Paul’s church was built in 1865 as a Gothic Revival-style structure. The lot, build-ing, furniture and windows cost $5000. The building was completed in less that six months. The first service was held in the church on Easter Day, April 1, 1866. On May 12, 1866 the church was consecrated by Bishop Coxe. It was added to the U.S. National Historic Register of National Places in 1996.

Continued from Page 1 At this time, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. It is a time for family’s to be to-gether (if they can) and a time for thanking God for all the things he has done for us this year. You may not think we had anything to be thankful for but God is ever present, we just have to reach out to him. Thought for the Day Encouragement and Prayer in a time of Pandemic Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we pro-fess, for he who promised is faithful, and let us consider how we may spur one another on to-ward love and good deeds, not giving up meet-ing together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. God Bless you all Judy Bell-Olmsted, Warden

Check out what we’re reading at Bible Study! Jesus Was an Episcopalian by Rev. Chris Yaw
This light-hearted, interesting and thoroughly engaging book invites newcomers and those looking for a refresher course to take a new look at the Episcopal Church. "It's an amazing time to be an Episcopalian. Our church has a re-newed sense of vision and leadership that's all about feed-ing the hungry and clothing the naked. We're all about standing up for equal rights and the environment. We're all about welcoming everybody to the table, preaching re-pentance and accepting forgiveness. We hold together modern thought and an ancient faith firmly rooted in Jesus Christ. We offer vital communities that help families, sin-gles - countless people make sense of their lives and their places in the world. Jesus Was an Episcopalian (And You Can Be One Too!) is all about letting the world know who we are and who the Lord is calling us to be. Let's face it,
few people today know what an Episcopalian is (be honest - how many people have asked you how to spell it?), yet many of us who have found Christ through this wonderful tradition believe we have an incredible gift to share. That's what this book is about. It's an uplifting, breezy, down-to-earth apologia for a new generation. It's for the church. It's for the world. It's one way for the church to love the world." (Chris Yaw)
What can we be grateful for during this time?
The chance to slow down Completing projects around the house More time spent with loved ones Learning new recipes or crafts Less traffic Going for walks Instacart and takeout Knowing that it’s not permanent and that we’re all in this together
