Tennessee’s Three Grand Divisions
• Tennessee is divided into regions called the three grand divisions:– West Tennessee– Middle Tennessee– East Tennessee
West Tennessee• The Mississippi River and
the Tennessee River form the natural boundaries of West Tennessee.
• A major city in West TN is Memphis. It is located on the Mississippi River.
• Memphis has the largest population density in the state.
