Issue Severity: Product Affected:

High: Act immediately

Medium: Bosch Security Systems, Inc. strongly recommends you take the action(s) described below.

Low: Advisory

IPP-MAP0005 Power Supply

1.0 Issue The IPP-MAP0005 Power Supply might be susceptible to surge damage on the green (G) and yellow (Y) terminals of the Bosch Data Bus (BDB) ports (Figure 1). In order to remain CE compliant, if the power supply is installed on the external BDB, the total length of the BDB wiring must not exceed 30 m.

2.0 Resolution For the current IPP-MAP0005 Power Supply design:

• Do not install the power supply on the external BDB if the total wiring length exceeds 30 m.

• If a power source is needed for devices installed on a BDB with wire lengths greater than 30 m, use a different 28 VDC power supply.

This addendum supersedes the 1000 m BDB specification shown in the MAP Overview Datasheet. This is a temporary resolution, pending the release of an updated BDB port design for the power supply.
