How to Set Up Printers to Print on the Wireless Network (Macintosh Platform-Tiger)
1: Select Your School’s Wireless Network and Log in (This document assumes that you have already performed the steps outlined in the document entitled: How to Access the Internet and Receive Email) Note:
In order to access the SDP’s wireless network in your school, your laptop will need to be running OSX.3 (Panther) or OSX.4 (Tiger). Laptops running OS9 will not be supported on the District’s wireless network.
The AppleTalk communication protocol is not available for use on the SDP wireless network.
Make sure you have installed the latest print drivers for the printer make and model
2: Click on the System Preferences icon on the Dock.

Note: If you can’t find the System Preferences icon on the Dock, you may click on the blue apple icon in the upper left corner of the menu bar and find the command for System Preferences in the drop down menu.
The System Preferences window will open and look like this:
3. Click the Print and Fax icon.

4. Click the Plus sign (lower left corner) Printer Browser Window:
5. Highlight “IP Printer” 6. Protocol: From the popup menu, select Line Printer Daemon – LPD 7. Type in the printer’s IP address 8. Name: Create a name for the printer

9. Location: You may list the location where the printer is located.
10. Print Using: From the popup menu, select your printer’s make and model 11. Click the “Add” Button (lower right corner) 12. Click the “Continue Button.” 13. You successfully added the printer to your client computer.
