The project is being implemented by CHB on the behest of the Chandigarh Administration. Consulting Architect, M/s Satnam Namita & Associates have already been appointed for the said Project. The estimated cost of the Project of Rs.108 Crore is proposed to be met from the revenues being received by CHB from the RGCTP Habitat Project. However RGCTP Project has already gone into the Arbitration so CHB has asked for funds from CHD Administraton.

M/s Spectral Services Consultant Pvt. Ltd has also been engaged by CHB for providing consultancy for designing this building as an ‘Intelligent & Green Building’. This project has already been registered with the ‘Indian Green Building Council’ for getting certification under the LEED Rating system. The Architectural drawings for the said project have already been approved by the Chief Architect, UT, however, the detailed estimates submitted by the Consulting Architect has been submitted to CE, UT for approval & vetting the DPR to further forward the same to the concerned Ministry of GOI for sanction of funds as the Project Cost is more than 10 Crores.

M/s. Darashaw & Co. Pvt. Ltd. has been appointed by Ministry of Tourism as State level Project Management Agency to provide Project Management Support in development of Tourism Infrastructure Project in Chandigarh and also to prepare detailed project report related to these mega tourism projects which includes Nehru Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Sector 34, Chandigarh. As such the said NCPA project is to be taken up by the Tourism Department, UT which has to arrange all approval and funds from Ministry of Tourism, GoI.

Another cultural hub in the Sub City Centre of Sector 34 with ample commercial activity of hotel & restaurant sites in Sector 35 & newly upgraded multiplex in the vicinity shall be a major attraction in the heart of the City. Another redevelopment plan with underground parking under the pedestrian plaza, abutted Chandigarh Master Plan – 2031 Draft OLD view with flexible floor plate multi-storied commercial / institutional blocks will meet the new needs of changing cultural & commerce needs.

A State of the Art Convention Centre has been envisaged for the promotion of Chandigarh as a popular M.I.C.E destination. Nehru Center for Performing Arts shall have the facility of an international convention center and theaters. The centre would comprise an auditorium for 1,500 persons and one smaller for 250 persons, two conference halls, a cafeteria and parking spaces
