• Tourism is “Cultural and Natural tourism”
• Tourism has been decided as «Green Gold»
• One of top ten priority sectors for socio-economic development.
• Tourism is one of major generators of revenue contributing more than 12% of GDP, job creations.
• In 2016, 5.01 million increased 5% with revenue 3,200 millions USD.
• Sustainable tourism contributes to poverty reduction and climate change mitigation.

Efficiency Resources for Tourism
• More than 5,000 were
discovered, in which more
than 1,000 in Siem Reap
Province, this include: ancient
bride, ruins, mounts and
temples
• 5 Tangible and Intangible were
listed in the World Heritage.
• 23 Protected Areas and 5 Protected Forests.
• 440 km coast line and 72 Islands. These resources
are have big potential for tourism development.

regulations, Education.

• Law enforcement, develop facilities and services,
promote and use of local products. Market and
promotion of tourism, develop basic infrastructures,
skills. Investments.
Industry Associations
• Law enforcement, Marketing and promotion, form the
associations such as the hotels, restaurants,
transports, guides, travel and tours.
Civil Societies • Help to conserve and protection of resources,
provide training and skills.

• Technical assistant and Funded for development of
tourism.

• Technical assistant and grant for development of
sustainable tourism.
SUCCESS STORIES
Ministry of Tourism was established in 1993 • Tourism Policy of Cambodia (2008)
• Tourism Law of Cambodia (2009)
• Tourism Strategic Development Plan 2012-2020 (2012)
• Other (hotel classification standard, green hotel standard,
Homestay standard, CBT guideline…)
• 56 community based tourism were established most of them
are in the protected areas and protected forest.
• Cambodia bay listed to the most beautiful club in the World.
• Angkor temple was listed to the most visited destination.
• Chipat CBT listed to the top ten most attractive in the world by
Lonely Planet.
