1.0 BEISPIEL EINES SERIOUS GAMES

Page 4: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

1.0 Beispiel eines Serious Games

• US-Militär wollte Serious Game zu Schulungszwecken

Page 5: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

merken

• Schulung sollte wie ein Hollywood-Film sein

• Ergebnis:• Wir machen eine Schulung im Sinne eines Hollywood-

Films

Page 6: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

1.0 Beispiel eines Serious Games

• Was macht einen Hollywood Film so besonders?

• Die Story

• Idee:• StoryDrive Engine = eine Simulation in ein Hollywood Erlebnis verwandeln

Page 7: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

1.0 Beispiel eines Serious Games

• Was es schon gab:

Page 8: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

1.0 Beispiel eines Serious Games

• Jedoch befinden sich die meisten Soldaten in einer „Kill or to be killed“-Situation

Page 9: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

1.0 Beispiel eines Serious Games

•Umsetzung in „Crisis Decision Exercise“ bzw. „Final Furry Exercise“ 1997

• Nachfolger: Leaders (2004)

2.0 WAS IST EINE STORY?

Page 15: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.1 Die Hollywood Story

Page 16: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

Page 17: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.1 Die Hollywood Story

• Bill Idelson:• Ein Held• Ein Ziel• Etwas, was zwischen Held und Ziel steht

Page 18: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.1 Die Hollywood Story

Hero

Goal

Obstacle

Page 19: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

Page 20: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.1 Die Hollywood Story

• Was ist dieses „Obstacle“?• 2. Eine andere Person

Page 21: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.1 Die Hollywood Story

• Was ist dieses „Obstacle“?• 3. Das Ziel selbst

2.2 Storys in Serious Games

Page 23: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.2 Stories in Serious Games

Page 24: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.2 Stories in Serious Games

• Wie man die Story verwendet:• Beispiele:

• Stories als Denkhilfe:• Geschichte des barmherzigen Samariters• -> Nächstenliebe

Page 25: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

2.2 Stories in Serious Games

Page 27: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.1 Video

Page 28: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.1 Video

Zuschausers = iTV

Page 29: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.1 Video

• Interessante Technologie für Serious Games: iTV

• Erreichbar durch Kombination von Fernseher und Smartphone o.Ä.

Page 30: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.1 Video

• Grafiken statt Videos verwenden (billiger)

Page 31: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

Page 32: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

Page 33: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

• Fernseher – Feier – Beispiel (mit Audio)• Hohes Interesse an den sprechenden Personen im

Fernsehen

• Was lernen wir daraus?

• Die Kombination von Audio und Video erzeugt starkes Interesse

Page 34: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

Page 35: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

• Beispiel A: Simpsons

Page 36: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

• Beispiel B: Der Polarexpress

Page 37: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

Page 38: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

•Wichtig bei Dialogen:

• Sollten sich natürlich anhören• Sollten Hintergundinformationen enthalten• Der pädagogische Kern sollte verborgen bleiben

• Dialoge sollten wie von der Figur erscheinen

Page 39: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

•Sound-Effekte sind sehr billig und sehr wichtig

• Dinge wie:• Schritte• Autos• Das Geräusch von Schaufeln• Zirpende Grillen

• Wir sind immer von Sound-Effekten umgeben

Page 40: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.2 Audio

•Musik ist ähnlich günstig wie Sound-Effekte

•Nicht für jedes Projekt hilfreich

•Kann schnell und effektiv ein Gefühl vermitteln

•z.B. „Asia Musik“ -> China

Page 41: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.3 Gameplay

Page 42: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.3 Gameplay

• Real-time 3D-rendered (RT3D) Welten sind besonders gut für Simulationen

• Sehr überzeugend aber auch sehr teuer

Page 43: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.3 Gameplay

Page 44: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.3 Gameplay

Page 45: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.3 Gameplay

•Was haben wir also gelernt?

Page 46: Story and Simulations for Serious Games

3.3 Gameplay
