STEMASHAN CONSTRUCTION was formed in 1995 after the founder Mr Stephen Bahula saw a major shortage of Construction firms from previously disadvantaged communities. The company has since grown significantly and is managed by highly multi-skilled professional team. Stemashan is a wholly “Black” owned and managed company and, is able to deliver projects on time and within budget. Our level 6CEPE CIDB grading attests to our capacity, efficiency and quality of work. In view of the level and status of company’s profile it has converted from a Close Corporation to and Pty Ltd entity in 2008.

Our mission is to support the social, economic and infrastructure development requirements of our country. We aim to grow our capacity to be able to engage the challenges of building sustainable communities.

CONTRACTOR’S DEVELOPMENT We transfer skills where needed during our
operational activities to potential sub-contractors in all construction activities where possible depending on the Client’s needs, without sacrificing quality and standards. We will advice the Client’s on outsourcing, such activities as and when required during project planning and implementation – with the full engagement of the Client directly, in pursuant of the above objective.
COMMUNITIES AND ENVIRONMENT Our company provides a safe environment at all
times during and after the completed operations. Where need arises, and within reach, we will advice on the mechanisms that will ensure that, the environment is restored to its original state- General and selective skill will be provided free, during operations, to enable them to operate and maintain the infrastructure provided.
In general, the firm provides a platform for needy student(s) of all races with a particular emphasis to previously disadvantaged groupings, by providing them with the following: Bursaries and loans scheme for higher

Stemashan Construction is active in township infrastructure and related municipal service initiatives. It is experienced in the design and implementation of projects utilising labour intensive methods.
•The company successfully completed the construction of concrete storm water channels for Ekhuruleni Metropolitan Council (formerly Eastern District Council)

Stemashan Construction participates in the provision of acceptable forms of ablution facilities to households through the Bucket Eradication Programme of Government. The company engages service providers and suppliers who are solutions based towards “closing the sanitation loop”, with eco-friendly and sustainable products.
VIP (Ventilated Improved Pit) toilets are constructed for the Rustenburg Local Municipality in the Kanana and Koster Districts. We have installed 4000 and 100 VIP’s respectively.
Water borne ablution facilities were built.
Sanitation and Water reticulation work was also successfully undertaken by the company.
Roads Victor Khanye MunicipalityWestern Area Municipality
•Stemashan Construction is involved in the provision of infrastructure services for previously disadvantaged communities. The company successfully completed the supply of roads for Victor Khanye and Western Area Municipalities. One of our prestigious clients is the Joburg Roads Agency.
•Road construction using labour-intensive methods, creating employment through liaison with communities and the emerging contractor sector.
•Road improvements (conversion of gravel to tar roads) to increase capacity and safety of existing facilities, as well as routine road

The Taxi is the primary mode of transport for millions of South Africans. Inclement weather often makes waiting for a taxi uncomfortable. Stemashan Construction has upgraded the Denneboom taxi rank.
Roads UGU District Municipality KZN
One of the major challenges facing KZN is the large concentration of population in peri-urban districts. One of these is Port Shepstone which has a large population with a lack of road infrastructure supporting it’s peri-urban districts. Stemashan has participated rehabilitation of the Node Access Road for the UGU District Municipality. Stemashan Construction is able to undertake upgrading projects relating to new roads construction, and gravel to concrete or black top surface road rehabilitation.
Having made an entry in to the KZN Province, the company hopes to entrench it’s presence here so as to fast track service delivery to the local municipalities and districts.
Water Pipelines & Pump Stations Victor Khanye Municipality
One of the biggest challenges facing communities is access to clean running water. Settlements for Previously Disadvantaged communities are characterised by low levels of bulk services. Stemashan Construction has the capacity for large water projects which contributes towards addressing the water and sanitation needs of poor communities.

Residential & Commercial BuildingsOur government’s biggest challenge is the provision of housing for poor communities. The huge housing backlog requires the concerted efforts of all roleplayers and stakeholders.
Stemashan Construction is experienced and is involved in the construction of bonded, rental and RDP housing.
