Fourth Sunday of Easter
Good Shepherd Sunday
I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved,
and will come in and go out and
find pasture. John 10:9
From the Heart - by Fr. Kern
I continue to offer thanks to God for all that is
happening in our Tri-Parish. Your dedicated
and faithful work has brought much fruit. I would like to
say special thanks to all of you who labored this year as
catechists in our classrooms teaching our youth the faith.
As I stopped by each classroom I was always impressed
with the dedication and love each of you shows to our
children. We are in a good place and I hope we can con-
tinue to improve upon what we are currently doing. I
don’t know about you, but I never want to be satisfied
with ‘good enough’ but hope to look to constantly im-
prove our efforts and strivings to give the best presenta-
tion of the Gospel to our children and to each of us. I
want to continue to seek to find new ways to present to
the upcoming generation the beauty of our faith and the
impact living our faith can have on their lives. I hope
you will search with me in this endeavor. Next weekend
we will honor another class of graduates as they make
their way toward college or work, we will thank God for
showing each of us the Way to live for Him in this life.
I would also like to say thank you again for your gener-
osity toward the Annual Diocesan Catholic Ministries
Appeal. Your service to the Church on a financial level
makes a huge impact in the ministries our diocese carries
forth and directly impacts our parishes in this way as
well. The constant support you show to the Church goes
to great lengths and shows your commitment to the life
of the parish. Your contributions are great but they show
your commitment is much deeper than just what your
pocket book is able to handle. I thank you for your com-
mitted and generous lives.
Finally, on this Mother’s Day I say thanks to all moms.
Every mom is a protector of life and a nurturer of love. I
cannot help but think of all the love and goodness my
own mother showed me in her short life. While we hon-
or and pray for our Mother’s today, in a special way we
know that even if our own mother is deceased the
Blessed Virgin Mary is mother to us all. She is the per-
fect protector of our life (especially spiritual) and she
aids us with her prayers and grace of her Son (nurturing).
We are abundantly blessed. Thanks both mom of this
life and of my life in Heaven.

Our cemetery boards do an excellent job of this. Please help them to be good stewards of this sacred ground by your generous donations this month. An envelope for dona-tions will be available next weekend.

The month of May is the "month which the piety of the faithful has especially dedicated to Our Blessed Lady," and it is the occasion for a "moving tribute of faith and love which Catholics in every part of the world [pay] to the Queen of Heaven. During this month Christians, both in church and in the privacy of the home, offer up to Mary from their hearts an especially fervent and loving
homage of prayer and veneration. In this month, too, the benefits of God's mercy come down to us from her throne in greater abun-dance" (Paul VI: Encyclical on the Month of May, no. 1)
During the Month of Our Lady the rosary will be prayed begin-ning 25 minutes before Mass at each parish. Please plan to come early and pray this beautiful prayer together.
