HOW TO ENTERStep 1. Submit Qualifying EssayIn 1500 words or less, explain your support or opposition to the U.S. Supreme Court’sdecision to invalidate Section 5 of Shelby County v. Holder (2013) allowing states,including those with a history of voter discrimination, the right to change voterregistration laws without the need for approval by the federal government.

Step 2. Be Selected as Essay Finalist/Runner-up Essay finalists and runners-up will be notified and announced on njsba.com on Feb. 10.

Step 3. Compete in 2017 Trivia ContestAll contest finalists and runners-up must RSVP to attend the Black History Month Reception on Feb. 23, where finalists will compete in a trivia contest for cash prizes.
